If you’re looking for a cozy spot to grab a bite in downtown Anchorage that feels more like a local hangout than a tourist trap, Alaska Crepery is where it’s at. Located right across from the 5th Avenue Mall at 319 W 5th Ave, it’s a bright, colorful little place that’s perfect for escaping the wind or snow. It has a laid-back, "Central Perk" vibe with fun swinging chairs and local art on the walls, making it a great spot to catch up with friends or just chill with a latte.
What really makes this place a standout is how they take a classic French street food and give it a massive Alaskan twist. You can get a standard sweet crepe, sure, but the locals rave about the Alaskan Reindeer crepe (stuffed with reindeer sausage, peppers, and onions) or the Alaskan Smoked King Salmon. If you’re leaning more toward dessert, the Blueberry Cheesecake and the Nutella & Banana crepes are massive and definitely hit the spot. They are also super accommodating if you have dietary restrictions, offering gluten-free and vegan crepe batter that actually tastes good.
The drink menu is just as much of a draw as the food. They do some of the best Turkish coffee in town—served in those traditional little cups—and their Mamma Mia Latte is a must-try if you need a caffeine kick. If you’re not a coffee person, their chai and matcha are excellent, and they even make Italian sodas that the kids love. It’s one of those rare spots where the staff is genuinely friendly and the service is quick, even when the downtown lunch rush starts to pick up.
You can stop by and grab a table or a "grab-and-go" sandwich almost any day of the week. They are open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Whether you’re a local looking for a new breakfast routine or you're just visiting and want a taste of Alaska that isn't another burger, this little creperie is a total gem.
