My mom was misdiagnosed. She was on the geriatric behavioral unit and was hallucinating from UTI, psychosis, kidney disease and an occiptal infarct. She was labeled with dementia as the primary discharge diagnosis! An MD, cannot arrive at a dementia diagnosis by spending time with the patient that equated to an hour. Her previous records where not reviewed. It is my hope that no other family experience this lack of care and disconnect. Medicine is not an exact science, but patients should be accessed correctly, that is not too much to ask for in my view.

Thankfully mom sought medical treatment elsewhere and was diagnosed correctly, prescribed the correct medication and is back to her old self, with no dementia like symptoms. Unfortunately that diagnosis is on her permanent medical record.

The social worker Gloria was wonderful, as well as their Medical-records department supervisor- Rosalyn in Medical-records was very helpful.

I wouldn't say that I had an amazing experience...because I went to the hospital for my first surgery...but I could say that people are very nice, respectful and ready to help. Everything went nice and smooth,from scheduling the surgery to awaking after, not feeling bad. The doctors and nurses explained me every step and answered my questions. If I had questions after surgery I called in and a doctor called back with good advice. The place was clean and neat so I could say, I couldn't expect better ...

Go literally anywhere else but here. The absolute worse experience ever with a hospital. Went in for a quick procedure and when it was done I woke up alone in a different room than what they originally had me in. I tried to get up to get assistance and fell and hurt myself. When the nurses finally came to check on me they didn't care that I was hurt and rushed me out while I was crying. I had issues with my bill and staff were incredibly rude while talking to them on the phone. They also sent my bill to a debt collector 1 month AFTER I paid it off. When I tried to call about this they said they can't help me because my account was closed due to my bill being paid off. This place has caused way more harm to my health than they helped due to the stress and anxiety while dealing with them

From front door to triage to a room, the staff here was amazing. Very courteous, patient , and diligent to my needs. Dr. Guth & RN Sara found relief for my strained back ... and I'm glad I took a chance to try UChicago ER.. I would come back. Thank You to ALL!!!

I suffer from Chronic Pain along with so many other issues that cause additional pain, I see Dr. Tubic & Dr. Naidu and Nurse Practitioner Natalie for all my pain management. On this particular visit I had injections in my knees and now my knees feel GREAT! I recently had the NEW “Biotronik” Spinal-cord Neurostimulator installed, and after many years of suffering I’m finally sleeping comfortably at night and I’m walking w/ minimal lower back & leg pain, Thanks to the wonderful team of Doctors & Nurses. I love watching how well everyone works together, like a well oiled machine. If you suffer from constant chronic pain? I HIGHLY recommend making an appointment with Chicagoland Pain Management.

My 10 year old had an MRI and Derek was wonderful. My son was so scared and Derek calmed him down, explained everything, was patient and made the experience great for him. I have had bad experiences here in the ER and I usually don’t write reviews but Derek in imaging went above and beyond to make my son comfortable and happy!

My husband had a really bad allergic reaction to penicillin and by the time the ambulance got him to the hospital he was unresponsive. They saved his life. My experience from the paramedics to the hospital was great even the 911 dispatcher was great I was screaming with fear. The hospital staff treated me with exceptional kindness and caring. When I arrived the next morning to see my husband after leaving him on a ventilator and sedated I walked in to this see picture below all I could do was cry with joy and thank God for guiding his care with these awesome people. Nurses Ashley, Ella, and the patient care staff the Er doctor was just fantastic we just moved to the area. Exceptional care

Kindness, Care and Compassion is what I have received from my two ER visits this week with one resulting in an admission. I was sent to Silver Cross via ambulance and they were so ignorant and uncaring, i was alone with no one to help and in severe pain. I had a relative get me and take me to Bolingbrook to where they worked on getting my pain under control as soon as i got there. The staff was caring and compassionate...particularly Frank my ER nurse, Ann my evening admit nurse (one fine nurse right there) and my day time nurse, Serah was amazing and so kind and understanding. My patient care technician, Trevor, was very nice and friendly and there to help when needed. Thank you Bolingbrook hospital for your care and compassion in getting me feeling better. You all are angels

Great care, thank you! Dr McDaniel and Natalie K. are the most caring! The rest of their staff is amazing for pain management. They are trying to help me get comfortable after multiple Surgeries. Each vist is wonderful!

Patiently filled out ppwk for me & made me very comfortable for my MRI . I go to Bolingbrook Hos for most all of the scans I need .

My son had an appointment for an MRI after hours on a Sunday. Since the main entrance wasn't open they had him go to the ER to check in. I checked in online and he has been there 3 other times this month, therefore all his information was in the system. They had him sit and made him wait for over an hour. They said they would contact imaging but never did. I had to call them myself from southern illinois. So unprofessional since they kept blaming their new system!

What a joke of a an ER. If I could give a zero I would. Both women behind the triage window was so dererspectful, so rude to everyone Shouldn't be in their positions at all.
The ER wait was 5 to 6 hours. There was a gentleman literally on the floor crying in pain and they would tell his daughter, we will get to when we have time.
Meanwhile they are talking to patients with the triage window open and then talking about people when they leave triage. We can all hear them in the waiting room.

There were so many more issues and if we didn't need to be at this one since it was an ambulance call, we would not have been. Five and half hours and still at the ER waiting to be seen.

If you don't have to use this ER go to a different o e. The amount people that came in and left because they couldn't even get to the receptionist is not good.

I want to send much love and gratitude to the ER staff here today. These people are really caring considerate compassionate. I came to the ER this evening and left everything behind. I asked the staff if I could borrow a couple dollars and zelle it back to get a beverage. As one loving unit they declined my zelle offer and stuck together to help me get a beverage. I'm wishing them all a healthy happy and successful career! This is what makes the world a better place !! Nurse/Staff appreciation 11/01/2023

Loved my 3 day stay. I was served a general diet but believed it should have been a liquid first day then a soft diabetic diet. I avoided ordering anything that could be considered too gassy like broccoli and Brussel Sprouts.
I saw my PCP group today, at UI Health, for follow up. They contacted me for today's visit. It was a miracle because I had followed Discharge papers to see VNA Monday at 10, only to be told "the hospital did not schedule my visit and I would have to reschedule." The only time they had was today at 10am okay set but UI called me Wednesday eve so canceled VNA lucky me. I am so happy with the electronic Bridge between the facilities. It has made it now easier to have all my medical history together under one electronic house...Thanks for giving me the BEST EMERGENCY CARE, doctors/Surgeons & my forever DAISY RN Team Mai, Andrew, Izzy & my "Fall Risk" band Administrator lol (you know who you are)! ❤️ you guys!!! Keep up the great job!
