I have always had great service from this Avis car rental place here at the Philadelphia airport the staffs are cool & welcoming I am looking forward to renting vehicles here again when ever I take some time off up north again. also I have been slacking on making review I've been many places and most of My reviews have been really helpful too.


When we got to Avis to rent our car we started talking to the staff and there is a mother and daughter team who help guide is to Lexus SUV which was needed as we require space. Thank you Avis for helping the Smithwicks drive around the city in style

If I could give a Zero, I would. Horrible experience renting a car from this location. The only good news about Avis Philadelphia is the shuttle bus driver, who is a warm and helpful person. After that there is no service. We picked up the car around 1 AM on Dec 8 and returned the car at the same Philly airport location on Dec 13 around 3:30 AM. There were no clear signs where to drop the car off. When I try to park in a clear return lane there was a guy yelling his head off saying that is not where I was supposed to park, and the car behind me also got quite a yelling. Instead it would much more helpful to tell us exactly where to return the car. After all was said and done, and both the cars parked the returns exactly where he wanted, there was no one to check the car in.

Days later I get texts and emails saying that the car had not been returned yet. I call Avis and I give them all the details and 2 days later there is another text and email asking me to return the car. When I call Avis again they tell me it would take up to 48 hours to update their system, and they got the car and it should be ok. I have issues with their approach because they don't have a tracking system 3-5 days after the car was returned which tells them if the car was accounted for. I also got a receipt which is kind of vague because it does not state the exact time when the car was returned, but more importantly has an inaccurate odometer reading off by a few hundred miles. I am lucky because I had taken a photo of the car and the mileage with the date/time and geo tag which clearly proved that the car was sitting in the Avis lot. Having 2nd thoughts about Avis - had a good run with them for years, but the last 2 experiences have been outright bad.

Vehicle wasn't clean. Windows were nasty and you couldn't see through them easily. There was a dirty pair of pants in the floorboard. Not what I was expecting from a cleanliness standpoint.

We had a great experience with our Avis rental in Philadelphia. The car was excellent and check in and check out were fast and easy.

PHL Avis office was very slow and unprofessional and inaccurate information was provided regarding returning car - was told rate valid for 24 hour rental, but in fact AVIS charges a $15 late fee if you bring your car back more than 90 minutes after time you said you would return EVEN if it is within the 24 hours. This was not explained even when we asked agent if any rate changes would apply, she erroneously said no rate change as long as return within 24 hours.

The car was dirty. We requested a car seat for our toddler and paid but had to wait 30 minutes after 4 hours of travel with a toddler and infant. I was verbally told the car seat would be installed prior to arrival. The car seat for the toddler was disgusting. Our kids were screaming because they were tired cold and confused. Shame on you! I am a member of the Presidents Club and this is the service I get? I'll take my business elsewhere. Terrible rental all around. And the car was an older model as well. I didn't know they still made cars with an actual key

I love getting a car from Avis in NY, it was the first time I picked up a car from AVIS at Philadelphia airport, and I didn't get terrible service, when I told the attendant that I was deaf, she didn't have any patience to help me , I was very uncomfortable with the lack of patience to repeat a word or even write it for myself!

UPDATE: My rental was for Dec 20th - Dec 23rd. The cost was $251.43. I returned the car 5 minutes late on the 23rd and I wrote the date and time I returned the car on the envelope. Now my AMEX is being charged $635.11. That is almost $300 for 5 minutes. I called the Mt Laurel NJ location where I dropped off the car and they said we have to charge for returning the car after they closed. They were still in the office when I used the drop box too. I called Avis Customer Service and they requested photos of time of call and pictures of car and mileage. Avis has a 29 minute grace period. After reviewing my documentation they are giving me a credit and my final cost is the $251.43. Thank you Avis for making this right.
