Avis Car Rental NYC JFK

I had to change two cars before the third was ok. The first check out staff was rude dismissive and totally discourtous thank God he left when I was about to lose it. His replacement was totally different by then I was at my lowest

Real Aholes people on the counter. Just asked a simple question if car can will be fine in current weather or not and started giving passive aggressive answers. Will definitely try to avoid this place next time

I had a very bad experience with my rental. I’m an Avis preferred member and once the vehicle is assigned I still have 24 hours to claim it. My flight got delayed by 8 hours and I got charged extra for next day pickup at JFK airport.
1. I reached out to customer service about my flight delay and they did not add it to my reservation
2. The 1st vehicle I got has breaking issues and I had to do exchange my vehicle at philadelphia airport. The 2nd vehicle I got has check engine light while I was driving. I tried to exchange the vehicle at newark liberty airport and this was a horrible experience which led me to cancel my entire trip and go back home. The 3rd vehicle I got smelled like someone urinated in the car and it is not clean.
3. The agents at JFK airport is rude initially but helped me out renting vehicle by calling customer service and with an extra charge. The manager at philadelphia airport is very nice with me and assisted me throught during my vehicle exchange. And finally at newark liberty airport: agents at the airport are very very very rude doesn’t allow me to talk speak to them and explain my situtaion properly. I was redirected to budget counter and the agent closed out the 2nd vehicle contract while I was talking to him and seem like he procured the vehicle without my consent. However, I took the new vehicle and when I approached the vehicle, it smelled like someone smoked in the vehicle. I immediately went back to the agent and explained him the situation and his response is very rude. I tried to escalate yhe situation to the manager at the counter, he is horrible and very rude, he locked me out with couple of options even though there are vehicles at the airport to rent.
Because of these incidents and especially the manager at newark airport, I had to cancel my trip and return back home immediately by booking a flight while I was at the airport. I need an immediate resolution to this matter so that I don’t change my mind for my future rentals

Great car. Return was super easy. Pickup was a disaster. Staff was underpowered and overwhelmed.

A pesar de llegar casi de noche, muy avanzada la tarde, al ver que el coche asignado tenía las ruedas traseras justas, nos dieron otro mejor con ruedas all season y al devolverlo todo fue muy ágil.
Hay gasolineras a escasas 5 millas para dejarlo lleno que siempre es mejor. La Ford Expedition 4x4 fue ideal para el viaje y, respetando la velocidad, una media de 22,2 mpg...algo racional para un coche tan grande, 400 cv y 10 velocidades. Tenía la revisión pasada hacia poco y todo estuvo perfecto con el coche y la gente de Avis allá.

I have been trying to contact them and have been unsuccessful. Everytime I call, I’m transferred to either another national
or international location which is very inconvenient

Check in was very easy. Counter personnel were very pleasant even giving us an upgrade and desired vehicle.
Call in personnel were also very pleasant and efficient when changes were required . Drop off also easy and simple

Have rented with Avis several times. The staff is helpful, the lines minimal and car is always ready to go. The drop off process is a piece of cake.

Great experience with renting at Avis JFK. Will rent again and would recommend to anyone!
