TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

My experience was amazing at Spring Valley Hospital. The hospital was very clean and well run. All the doctors and surgeons were very helpful and willing to explain everything to me to make me comfortable, complete professionals. The nurses were very kind, helpful and professional as well. Even the food was good! Which we all know is not the norm at hospitals. I can’t thank the whole staff enough for getting me thru a hard time in a comfortable way. I appreciate each one to the fullest

Everyone could not have been nicer and more professional. From the time I checked in around 2 PM on August 17, 2023 to the time I walked out the front main entrance around 2 PM on August 18, 2023, I got top shelf service. My ear process took about 6 1/2 hours which, let’s face it, it’s a process and everything takes time. However they tried to get my EKG and my doctor consult and my blood draw done within a couple of hours. The CT scan took a little while but those folks always get backed up I understand. I spoke with the ER doctors attending physician around 730 pm and she was just as helpful as he was all day and let me know some things that I didn’t know and that there was a room ready for me as I was getting checked in for overnight or more if needed. My doctors were Dr. Yuan and Dr. Park. Getting on - boarded in my room, 4024, Brandon, Jonas, Gwen all took very good care of me. On Friday I said farewell to Jonas as he was off shift however Stephanie and Lynette took great care of me and even served me lunch before I left. I cannot say enough good things about Spring Valley Hospital, thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Keep up the good work!

No one wants to visit the ER but I have to say I don't think my experience could have been any better, all things considered. In particular, I was greeted and treated so well by Colin. What an awesome person to have in this position. Everyone was very kind and even though they were SUPER busy, they worked quickly and efficiently. One nurse in particular, Whitney, was so pleasant and personable. The nurse who did my IV was very skilled. There was an intern (I think) who's name I didn't get that brought me crackers which I really appreciated! I hope I never return but grateful they were all there for me.

I live in Pahrump and as soon as I arrived I was taken to a room to be put on their oxygen so my friend could take my portable tank. I was made comfortable before and during the procedure. The nurses were reassuring and answered my questions. The care I received was excellent. The doctors listened to me during the procedure and made me comfortable under the circumstances. I have one more and now I know what to expect, I'm anxious to get it done.

10/27/2023:
Despite being hella sick for 2 months with one of the worse coughs I have ever had, I was taken care of very well this time around.
Nurse Michelle and Nurses aid Crystal went above and beyond to make me comfortable. They will always remain in my heart. I wish them the very best in their profession.
Thank you to the late night ER team who really listened to me this time so that they could come up with the right diagnosis and to get me on the road to recovery. Thank you!!

I would like to give a very special shout out to my Nurses, Patrick and Liz. 5 out of 5 stars. They were beyond amazing. So compassionate. They kept me informed as to what was going on with conditions and explained things to me so that I could understand in layman's terms. They didn't recite medical books and terms to me. They TALKED to me.

I would however have to give my lowest rating to my last nurse Olga. Unfortunately she just doesn't have the natural compassion it takes to be a care giver.
As a patient, you're there because you need medical help and you may be at your lowest.
You need to LISTEN to what your patient is telling you and how we are felling. I kept telling her that my veins in my right hand and arm couldn't withstand another I.V but she insisted on trying to place it. Instead, she just ended up hurting me even more and upsetting me even further. My husband was my witness.
All my other nurses, radiology, transport, thank you very much for seeing that I get better. 5 stars as well..

Zero stars for comfort. Those beds are awful!! They hardly qualify as mattresses.

Charge Nurse Julie. Thank you for the puzzle book and care package. It's those little extras that make a difference in our stay. Just going that little extra mile to make us feel better.
Please try to instill that with some of your other staff.
We're just not a disease or a sickness, we're people and need to be treated as such. Treat the person, not just the illness.
Always remember, if it were you or a loved one in that bed, how would you want to be treated? With sincere compassion. "Do unto others as you would have done to you."

Floors need to be swept and mopped more frequently in the halls.
I would take walks in the halls and there were candy wrappers that were on the floor for at least 2 days straight. No one bothered to pick them up and toss them in a trash bin. Be proud of your work place. Help to keep it clean and sanitary.
Thank you.

ED was very attentive. Well organized with each member explaining what was happening. Well coordinated activity!
The Cardiologist (Dr Patel) as well as the Cath Lab staff quickly arrived. Kudos to Brian in the Cath Lab for explaining the process while I was still in the ED awaiting to be transported. Again, once I was in the Cath Lab, everyone was responsive and fully explained the situation. After being transferred to iCU, the staff was excellent. I was checked on hourly if not more frequently. All my needs were met with compassion, respect and dignity. After being downgraded, on my last day, there was less visitation by the nursing staff. I recommend that the white board be updated for hourly rounding, plan of care, and my goals. Regardless, the staff was absolutely kind. I understand how busy a med/tele unit can be so I still give them lots of praise for what they have to deal with every dayI My main criticism was the frustration experienced by the unnecessary delay by the attending physician in being told I could be discharged until the actual order was written. Due to this delay, my anticipated ride home was unable to pick me up. Once the orders were in, my nurse expedited the discharge…so thank you!!!! Also, kudos to the Echo Tech….busy day for her but extremely pleasant, Phlebotomists-great! Dietary- not a single complaint about the food.. Housekeeping- the room was spotless. I watched the process and it was thorough! PT/OT…I knew your services would not be need, but you still had me prove my abilities. Almost forgot to give a shout out to Dr Gururaj for stopping by to say hello and check on me even though he wasn’t on my case. There were many other people who checked in on me. This meant a lot!
Thank you Spring Valley Hospital for making a difficult emotional visit a positive experience. Forever grateful and appreciative!

I was supposed to get an angiogram on Monday the 30th at 7:00 am and I showed up at 5:00 am as instructed. I did all my labs on Friday, the 27th at 8:00 am with Nurse Cruz who was absolutely stellar. She was everything that you wish for in a nurse. Monday comes and the clinical supervisor comes out at 6:45 am and tells me that I can’t have the procedure done because my Friday test shows that I contracted covid. I asked her why wasn’t I called on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or even Monday morning so I didn’t have to fast and get up at 4:00 am. Or why not tell me at 5:00 am while I sat at the waiting room as the only patient at that time. She stammers and told me that she called the clinic for my cardiologist to tell them and my cardiologist’s office forgot to tell me. My wife, who was with me, happens to be a provider and can tell that this supervisor just messed up with communicating with me. Well, I called Intermountain Health Clinic to ask and they never received a call. To make it even worse, I got a covid test on that same Monday and I was negative. If I only got a call, I would’ve been done with my angiogram. Now, I have to go to a different hospital, with a different cardiologist to get my procedure done; and I have to pay another $150 to preregister again because I paid $150 at Spring Valley Hospital for a service that I never received.

My schedule time for a procedure. was 230, was told to be there at 1, and no one came to get me until 4. Not very happy. Too long a wait time for no one to come and explain why. Once I got to the back the nurses, the anesthesiologist and Doctor Carlson, we're all very nice and Professional.

I really want to thank all the staff at The Birth Place, I gave birth to my baby recently and everyone was wonderful, in the delivery room, Noelle, Victoria and all the staff who helped in the birth, in the postpartum room To all the nurses, I really appreciate the human quality, efficiency and diligence in the care from the epidural to the postpartum care. If I had another child I would have him in this hospital again. THANK YOU

For the most part everyone was really nice and helpful. One of the postpartum nurses I had was a little rude and the lady who drew my blood when I first got there left my arm sore and bruised.

Had a biopsy procedure done at their Outpatient Clinic. Everything went well. Only complaint being that I was there for 5-hours for a procedure that took a total of 10-minutes to complete.

I understand the medical field is a very tough and stressful environment but our experience was absolutely horrible. My dad had a pretty bad boat accident , it required 13 stitches on his forehead and eyebrows, CT scan on brain, Neck and forearm. And all the patients were asked to wait at the lobby coz they didn't have enough staffs to overlook inside the ER room. We sat at the lobby for 7 HOURS and the results weren't out yet, the online medical show had errors, it showed the "brain" CT Scan result for all Leg, forearm and neck . My dad was tired, painful, hungry and worried. Why would u leave a brain and neck injury patient sat at the lobby for 7 hrs?? And that's a medical advice but not a concern??? Therefore, we decided to go home without the results and the medicine. After 10 mins of our departure, our doctor called us for an extra MRI on my dad's neck and X-ray on his wrist, so I made a U turn and we came back at 9:30am. The report shows we took the X-ray and CT scan at 3am, so we waited 7.5 hrs at the lobby for this result . How is that acceptable for a patient that may have a brain or neck injury and has to sit at the lobby for that long period?

In the end, the hospital will charge u the same amount for their services, and that's all that matters to them. Don't get me wrong, I would say most of the staff are very kind n respectful. We had a horrible experience at the ER.

After 7 hours we were discharged without a doctor explanation on the CT scan and XRay results, no medicine were given. We were referred to a Radiologist at another clinic which took us several days to confirm a booking. The radiologist said she has no idea why ER refer me to their clinic at all. Understand everywhere there is a lack of staff and it isn't a job to handle all the patients. But this isn't enough of an excuse at all......

The love and care I felt from the Drs and nurses during this delicate time was indescribable. I wish our encounters were met with happier news, but the support I felt from the entire birth department gave me the strength I needed. My team was attentive, efficient, compassionate, patient, & knowledgeable.. and my needs were met beyond what I could have ever expected. Words cannot express my gratitude for everyone involved these last few days. I will be coming here for all my future pregnancies 1000%! These people are family, I will never forget them!

I am writing three reviews one for the ER, one for the nurses, and one for the physicians available. The first is for the ER
Understaffed, disorganized, chaotic. First and last impression. I arrived via ambulance around 12.30 pm. Blood taken, tests performed, etc. across my room was an elderly lady, who laid in her urine for over 2 hr. she arrived 7.00 am and her daughter tried to get some attention to her mother. Water was requested at 4.00 pm and delivered at 6.00 pm. I was told that i will be admitted to the hospital and moved by 4.00 pm. I was moved at 8.30 pm. No comment.
The nurses are super and will receive 5 stars. they are attending and try to make your life easier. If you ring, they show up. I was very impressed by the night staff.
the physicians get one star. They are contractors not staff physicians. 90 second doctors, do not tell you test results. When I asked for a cardiologist, no one was available even after nurses called, texted and left messages. I was there for 5 days had extensive test done to heart etc. and no one could tell me or to my husband was is wrong.
the same was for the neurologist. Nurses called, texted and left messages, but no one showed up. Contractor doctors do quantity visits and get paid accordingly. No quality visits. The day before I got discharged the day nurse read sone of the tests to us, others were still closed and not available.
Spring Valley Hospital: get staff physicians and get the quality back into your doors. The contractors are 90 second physician, hello how are you, you looking better, see you tomorrow. One of those days it was only 15 seconds. because i was on the way to the bathroom. He told me he will come back, which did not happen. Don't have the patients have a right to know what is going on and the results of the tests performed?

I was there five hours, like everyone else. There were soo many patients. The staff all did the best they could, given the number of patients. The staff were very nice, helpful, attentive. They helped make an unpleasant situation tolerable

Let me just start with this, I’m giving 1 star because the nurses were nice. Worst ER I have ever been to. Don’t go if you can help it!
Spring Valley Hospital ER, Extremely dirty. Because I was not one of the worst patients in the ER my care was extremely poor. The doctor told me I had pneumonia. The nurse told me I did not, that the Dr did not put that down in my chart. I did not get all my meds I needed but was offered morphine when I said I wanted to leave due to my back was extremely sore and my sciatica was hurting so terribly from laying on the bed for so long. In my opinion, that is horrible. I needed my heart checked by the heart doctor in the hospital so that I could find out if my heart was sick or not, not drugged with morphine so I would stay longer and not complain. I was taken there by ambulance because I was having some chest pain on top of I had been sick and weak the night before. I was in there for a total of 10 1/2 hours and had to sign paperwork so that I could walk out, without treatment due to I just could not take it anymore and was not getting the proper care I needed. I was put against the wall for all but 3 1/2 hours out of the 10 1/2 hours I was there, so they could give my room to somebody else. I am a very patient person and did not speak nasty to anyone the whole time I was there. I could go on and on, but I’m just gonna stop here. I absolutely do not recommend this ER.

Post surgery complications at another surgery center. Went thru ER for help. One person at desk with approximately 35-40 people waiting. Filled out form at desk that no one looks at and can be seen by next patient or anyone walking up. Name/ DOB/ Address/ Social security number? Anyone can take your identity. Called me in and asked about personal medical info I front of random people. No privacy. Was ultimately admitted and never even received a room. Sat in a hallway and had to talk about very personal matters in front of anyone including anyone accompanying patients. The most embarrassing moments of my lifetime. Was told twice that I was next in line to receive a room. The night of the 6th and the morning of the 7th. I was there 2 days and finally requested to be discharged after a doctor told me you could be miserable here or at home. Wow! They are not all bad. Whitney Rocks! And so did Bobby in cat scan. But the full experience made it so uncomfortable and embarrassing. I better not be charged for a room since I slept in a hallway.

Everyone that I encountered were extremely nice and very concerned about my condition. I've been unable to walk without a cane or a walker for over 2 years in other words I was crippled. They were very concerned anytime I made a move or had to let go of my Walker after I did the preliminary work way in etc they took care of me and made me as comfortable as they could I have to think them all for that. The wait was a little long but I don't have a problem with that I took a nap. When they wheeled me in to the room for surgery everyone was pleasant and thank everyone for that. The anesthesiologist made sure I don't have any regulation after that and thank you. When I woke up I was finally able to see and feel I was conscious enough to be moved they contacted my ride and by the time I was aware enough to leave all the time he was perfect they wheeled me out in a wheelchair and sent me home and so far I'm doing fine thank you very much

This was the best experience of staying in the hospital I've ever experienced. From the day of my surgery to the following 4 days of recovery. Dr Flangas did an outstanding job of my spinal fusion surgery at C3-4 and redo of C4 to C7. The complete staff was outstanding on getting me pain medication when I needed it. Thank you to the complete Spring Valley Hospital staff!!
