Good morning
I was referred to REX by my cardiologist to see a few doctors. Dr. C. Anderson, Dr Wu and Dr. Grainger. I had open heart surgery on 4/17/23 and everything went so well. All the Doctors and the nurses were exceptional..

On 9/7/23
I returned to the ER and I was came across a couple of beautiful nurses. They were kind, mannerable, respectful, and so attentive.

Qwan and Mariana from the ER made sure that I was well taken care of.
7th floor nurses were Joe, Annie and Naja were awesome. Boy did they rock.. Thank you REX hospital for all of the hospitality .
Donna and LaTonya was also exceptional.

Spent all night in the ER with my husband, which was a complete waste of time. A doctor came by when we initially went back but we didn't see anyone else except when they drew blood and took him for an ECG, otherwise we saw noone until the nurse came to discharge him....without seeing a doctor or even telling us the test results until we asked. And they discharged him with him still saying he felt dizzy , nauseous, and disconnected. They just looked at him, handed him the discharge papers and asked if he had any questions. And on top of it, the waiting room was filthy.
questions. If need medical attention, don't go to Rex ER.

The ER receptionist was a bit snooty, but all the nurses and the PA was fantastic!

Almost 6 months later same quality service! Aubrey RN in post Op was so compassionate and kind! Super knowledgeable! Amazing! Take care of her.

Our experience was in the Rex ER. My father was treated efficiently and was informed every step of the way. Special kudos to Jamie the ER RN. She is simply fabulous! ❤️

If you need emergency care and you're right in front of UNC health Rex, just go to Wake Med, cause you may die here.
Terrible care for my grandmother who was here for pneumonia. She CLEARLY doesn't have legs and they asked 17 times if she could walk from her chair to the bed. The whole entire 4th floor West wing is terrible. They incompetent, lazy, loud, and just generally don't care about patients. I HATE IT HERE. Also they don't care if you eat. The rather doctors put you on a liquid diet so they don't have to work. 0/10 DON'T RECOMMEND.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hospital.

I was not given any food until 4pm and the staff got very defensive when I asked what time the food was coming.

The head RN on the second floor was very avoidant and dismissive when I started to ask more about what the doctor's orders were and where the food was.

Alex Uvo (spelling may be wrong) on the second floor was the only employee communicating effectively, and trying to make my experience better. He was very kind and was not supported at all by his superiors.

Horrible hospital layout, just getting to the emergency room from inside the rest of the hospital is nearly impossible. Even the staff can't figure out how to get their without having to leave the hospital, walk outside, walk all over the place then go back in. Horrible signage that leads to the opposite side of the hospital as well. Wouldn't recommend going here. GO TO WAKEMED INSTEAD

KUDOS to the entire 6th floor staff at Rex Hospital - nurses, CNAs, and housekeeping for making an unexpected admission so pleasant! If you get sick, hope that you get admitted to the 6th Floor. These healthcare workers are AWESOME! By the way, these includes the ER Department, Endoscopy Department, and patient escorts staff as well! There are angels among us!
