If you’re navigating the expansive shopping landscape of North San Antonio, you’ll find a retail powerhouse at the T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods combo store in The Rim. Located at 17822 La Cantera Pkwy, this massive dual-concept location is a cornerstone of one of the largest and most successful open-air shopping centers in Texas. In 2026, it remains a bustling "treasure hunt" destination where the high-end vibes of the neighboring La Cantera District meet the thrill of finding a designer deal. Because it’s situated in a mixed-use hub surrounded by luxury apartments and corporate offices, the store serves a diverse crowd of trendsetting locals, busy professionals, and weekend travelers looking for that perfect home or wardrobe refresh.
The experience of this "superstore" is uniquely defined by its seamless layout, allowing you to wander from high-end designer fashion into a world of global home decor without ever leaving the building. In 2026, the T.J. Maxx side of the store continues to be a destination for "The Runway," an exclusive department where savvy shoppers can find genuine luxury labels and runway-ready handbags at a fraction of boutique prices. On the HomeGoods side, the aisles are a constantly shifting gallery of finds, from sculptural floor lamps to hand-carved furniture. It’s the kind of place where you might walk in looking for a set of kitchen towels and leave with a velvet statement chair that looks like it was plucked from a European design house.
What makes this location a community staple is its sheer variety and strategic position within The Rim. As of 2026, The Rim has become a rare retail phenomenon—housing all five of the TJX concepts (including nearby Marshalls, Sierra, and Homesense)—making this specific 17822 La Cantera Pkwy address the heart of a "Maxxinista" paradise. On any given afternoon, you’ll see families grabbing seasonal decor for their Stone Oak homes, Bama-bound students from nearby UTSA furnishing their first apartments, and tourists popping in for a quick fashion find before heading to a movie at the Santikos Palladium across the street.
Visiting this location is a seamless part of a day spent in the most energetic part of San Antonio. Whether you’ve booked a technical appointment at the nearby Apple Store or you’re grabbing dinner at one of the upscale restaurants on "Restaurant Row," the T.J. Maxx & HomeGoods combo offers a fast-paced but friendly shopping environment. With ample parking and professional delivery services available to help you get those oversized furniture finds home, it’s never been easier to live a high-end lifestyle on a smart budget. It is a world-class example of how the best retail spaces don't just sell products; they provide a sense of discovery that keeps you coming back to see what’s new today.

Some interesting reviews about this place
- Fun place to go because there are so many random things in there.
- Not sure if only a problem when I went, but was extremely crowded. That said, the combination of the two stores were easy to navigate, well laid out, and had a clear delineation of which store side was which. The selection was very good, a good combination of stores. The checkout line was very long, however, it moved very quickly. They had 13 registers open.
- This is a TJ Maxx Runway so there are some display cases that have some amazing deals on higher-end brands. The clothes racks also have more luxury options too so expect some higher prices. The Home Goods part of the store has a good selection and the staff keep the place very clean. The line can get very long and wrap around the store, but each register is usually open which means the line goes much faster than what you would think. It just means you might have to wait longer than a normal Tjmaxx because you’re dealing with two stores in one.
- This was the crappiest shopping experience ever. The checkout had many registers but only two employees working them. The line was so long and took so much time to move forward that we wound up leaving our cart full of about $300 in merchandise. It's like since Covid nobody cares about a sale anymore or even wants to work. You'd think being the area they are the service would be great.
- Lots of great merchandise. Unfortunately, it is very poorly managed. There are not enough cashiers and the customer service is awful.
- Always find what I’m looking for and more, however the lines at this TJ Maxx / Home Goods store are ridiculously long at any given time.
