- The best rental car service I've used. They have quality cars which I rent for both personal use and tourism. Their collection of big SUVs will improve the quality of your next tourist place. After corporate discount, the rates are very competitive and service top class. Sometimes they also provide upgrades on the vehicle which is sweet.

- Bit of a longer wait compared to other companies but the price was right via 3rd party. Rep at counter was pleasant, helpful, and gave me an awesome car! He even refused a tip per policy but he deserved it.

I've used Hertz and Dollar car rental in the past but this is by far the best rental car experience I've ever had. The price was reasonable. The counter attendant was friendly, courteous and fast. The car was clean inside and out and it smelled good inside.I'll definitely use Avis again.

When I picked up the car, which was in the wrong parking spot and took forever to find, the key fob battery was showing low in the car. I told the attendant. He said it was no big deal. The key battery died 12 hours later. The next day, I called Avis, and I was told to go to an auto store and replace the battery myself, which is ridiculous. I was extremely busy. This was a business trip. I did try that insulting suggestion, and the closest auto store I went to did not have any that size. I had no time to go anywhere else. For 3 days, any time I tried to open the car, the alarm went off no matter how i put the key in or how close i held it to the handle. It was extremely embarrassing and anxiety producing. I told the attendant what happened when I returned the car, and I didn't even get an apology for the situation. Not only do I not recommend Avis, but I will not be renting from them again myself. This was not the first issue I've had, but it was definitely the worst, as well as the last straw.

AVIS upgraded the rental car to a Tesla Y. It was a surprising perk! It's very convenient to get and return the rental car quickly.

I flew into SJC for a Doctor's appointment at Stanford. It took an hour and a half to get my car which stressed me out. I got on I 280N and somehow got on 680 and ended up in Pleasanton. MISSED my appointment at Stanford that I had to wait 3 months to get in for. Had I gotten my rental sooner, I would have had plenty of time to back track to Stanford. So a RT plane ticket, car rental, gas and no Doctors help for a serious chest injury. Thanks Avis...

When I went to pick up my car at the airport they were understaff so it took longer than needed to get the car. The staff was not friendly or helpful in explaining the process. They just asked for items and had me pay for things without explaining what would happen. Like the deposit. They didn’t explain when I would receive it back or anything else about it.

They also didn’t have the car I reserved cause they gave it someone else. In the future I will be renting from the enterprise near my home. I had a much better experience there.
