В США заработала первая в мире сеть 5G

Сеть пока доступна только в некоторых американских городах — Техасе, Индианаполисе, Лос-Анджелесе и Сакраменто. Первым пользователем 5G стал житель Хьюстона Клэйтон Харрис.

На данный момент Verizon предоставляет только домашнюю 5G-сеть, но вскоре, когда количество вышек увеличится, опция будет доступна и для мобильного интернета. Первые три месяца обслуживания будут бесплатными, а после абонентская плата в месяц будет составлять от 50 долларов (для действующих клиентов Verizon) до 70 долларов (для новых пользователей). В эту стоимость входят аренда и бесплатное обновление роутера, Apple TV 4K или Google Chromecast, а также три месяца подписки на YouTube TV.

 

Пока что на рынке нет мобильных устройств, которые бы поддерживали 5G, но LG, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi и Lenovo уже анонсировали такие девайсы.

Ранее сообщалось, что «Мегафон» и «Ростелеком» нашли частоты, пригодные для технологии сотовой связи пятого поколения (5G).
