Atlanta, 1032 Research Center Drive Atlanta SW, Atlanta, GA 30331

If you’re living in Southwest Atlanta, particularly around the Cascade or East Point area, the Home Depot at 1032 Research Center Drive SW is basically the community headquarters for getting things done. It’s tucked away just off Cascade Road and is a total lifesaver for those of us who would rather spend our Saturday fixing up the house than fighting traffic to get to the busier spots in Midtown or Buckhead. It’s a huge, dependable warehouse that serves everyone from the early-bird contractors to the first-time homeowners just trying to figure out which mulch looks best in their front yard.

What really makes this "Cascade" branch special is the atmosphere. You’ll often find that the staff here, like the folks at the Pro Desk, actually know the local neighborhood and the specific quirks of the homes in SW Atlanta. Whether you need to figure out the right grass seed for our Georgia red clay or you’re looking for a specific heavy-duty generator to stay ready for storm season, there's usually a friendly "Orange Apron" around who can give you a practical tip without making it complicated.

One of the best local perks is their Tool & Truck Rental Center. In an area with so many growing families and DIY projects, not everyone has the space to store a giant power auger or a carpet cleaner. Being able to rent pro-grade gear for a few hours is a massive win for the budget. Plus, if you end up buying something that won't fit in your car—like a new vanity or a dozen bags of pine straw—you can rent one of their trucks right on-site to get your haul home safely and quickly.

For those days when you're in a real rush, the Curbside Pickup via the Home Depot app is a total game-changer. You just place your order online, pull into one of the designated spots near the front, and the team will bring your supplies right out to your vehicle. It’s efficient, easy, and saves you from wandering the wide aisles when you just need one specific light fixture or a box of nails. Whether you're planning a full kitchen remodel or just grabbing some fresh annuals from the Garden Center, this Research Center Drive spot is the reliable anchor that keeps the Southwest Atlanta community building.

Business Hours

Monday – Saturday: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Note: Curbside pickup is generally available from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The Pro Desk often opens at 6:00 AM on weekdays to help the pros get a jump on the workday.)

When The Home Depot was founded in 1978, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank had no idea how revolutionary this new “hardware store” would be for home improvement and the retail industry.

Today, we’re proud to be the world’s largest home improvement retailer. In more than 2,300 stores across North America, we aspire to excel in service – to our customers, associates, communities and shareholders. That’s what leadership means to us. That's The Home Depot difference.

Our founders' vision of one-stop shopping for the do-it-yourselfer came to fruition when they opened the first two Home Depot stores on June 22, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia. The first stores, at around 60,000 square feet each, were cavernous warehouses that dwarfed the competition and stocked 25,000 products, much more than the average hardware store at that time.

Today, The Home Depot is the world's largest home improvement retailer with approximately 475,000 orange-blooded associates and more than 2,300 stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The typical store today averages 105,000 square feet of indoor retail space, interconnected with an e-commerce business that offers more than one million products for the DIY customer, professional contractors, and the industry's largest installation business for the Do-It-For-Me customer.

I felt uneasy, kinda sketchy. And there was an officer parked in the parking lot near the entrance, sitting and observing. I am new to Atlanta and am not accustomed to seeing this. I Google map quest and just pick one when I want to go somewhere. Some places just don't seem safe

I do not know that I change for the better, this week I went to the store 4 times for materials, usually the employees are in very bad spirit to tend.

But this week was different, all the employees waving very kindly.
I needed a material that was not within reach and two young people very kindly helped me down the material.
I no longer had to wait for someone to answer my call, usually before that did not happen, I only heard say I do not work in this area, I will call someone else to help you.
And to wait or look for someone else .

Congratulations on the improvement.

My experience here was terrible. I came to pick up an order. No one greeted me. They just all looked at me one man I asked for help. He told me to wait as he wiped down his whole area for at least 10 minutes. I came to pick up an order. No one greeted me. They just all looked at me one man I asked for help. He told me to wait as he wiped down his whole area for at least 10 minutes before I walked away and ask someone else Miss Tammy was very helpful and that’s pretty much it.

A truly seamless experience. Kelsi assisted me with measuring, selecting, and locating the perfect blinds, all with a calm and positive attitude. He even took care of discarding the old ones. Service like this turns a simple errand into a genuinely pleasant experience. Grateful for the help.

I just want to give a huge shoutout to the store associate Dwayne at this location, as well as Corey the manager. Dwayne went above and beyond to help me track down a Milwaukee tool. He spent so much time helping me and was nice and patient. At the end, we couldn’t find the exact tool I was looking for, but we found a similar item and Dwayne was instrumental in working with his manager Corey in getting me a similar price.

Thank you to these two gentlemen for all their help! The employees pay a big part in why I will continue to visit this location.

It I could give 0 stars I would. So, I'm in the garden area trying to get information on the right things to buy to get my yard green and thick. I asked an associate for help, and he said he's the MANAGER and he don't do gardens( but he standing at a booth in the garden area) with a nasty attitude and then passed me off to someone else who just Google what I was talking about. I COULD HAVE DONE THAT MYSELF. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!!! Home depot needs to hire for fit and not jut anyone off the street.03/21/26

0/5 stars - Avoid Kevon at all cost!!!!!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Home Depot, specifically with Manager Kevon at the Pro Desk. His attitude was downright nasty and unacceptable when I attempted to do a phone sale.

When checking out, Kevon refused to use alternative methods to find my account, insisting on using a phone number that pulled up the wrong info. I asked for a manager, but he wouldn't budge, telling me to call customer service instead. He even refused to honor my purchase.

Contrast this with his manager, who stepped in and easily resolved the issue using my email. Huge difference.

If you're shopping at Home Depot, steer clear of Kevon. His behavior was unprofessional and rude.

I went to The Home Depot to get a flat dollie for moving furniture. Unlike many Home Depot stores I have visited lately, there were plenty of helpful customer support team members.

I was directed to the garden center where I found the dollie and several other tools that could been used for my project.

i had stopped coming to this location b/c the customer service was horrible and i had vowed to never come here again. well, i got in a pinch and had to stop here on a whim. i'm glad i did b/c they have completely turned things around. they are now focusing on good customer service and the nursery dept is much better stocked.

Have been in and out of this location recently as I am renovating a commercial space. While the line for returns is usually long Geneetra is always pleasant. I was also in desperate need of ADA grab bars and another employee L'Devion went above and beyond searching through stock to find the items I was looking for.
