Our Lady of the Lake Health provides care for a full range of illness or injury, including those that are extremely complex, for both pediatric and adult patients. We are a nonprofit, Catholic healthcare ministry based in Baton Rouge with more than 7,500 employees and more than 2,900 active physicians, including more than 600 employed physicians.

We are committed to building a healthy community through excellence in patient care and education. Being our best earns us the trust and loyalty of our community, and our culture of excellence is directly tied to our mission. We believe in the value of receiving a broad range of healthcare from one trusted provider, and we pursue and provide a comprehensive range of advanced programs, treatments and technologies.

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System is the leading health innovator in Louisiana and Mississippi and a regional destination for healthcare access. We bring together the top clinicians, advanced technology and innovative research to ensure our patients receive the highest quality and most comprehensive care possible.

This commitment is grounded in a history more than 100 years old but reflective of our forward-thinking strategic vision aimed at transforming healthcare.

As a nonprofit, mission-focused Catholic healthcare ministry, we provide a compassionate circle of care to everyone while giving special attention to those most in need. The care we administer is driven by listening to our patients and putting their needs first. Through listening, we can truly understand what’s going on, hear what the patient’s goals are, and most importantly, discover together how we can help.

Since our founding, we’ve grown to become one of the largest health systems in the region, providing care to almost half of Louisiana, and serving Mississippi's largest metropolitan area in Jackson.

Within the regions we serve, we operate major hospitals as well as dozens of community clinics and specialty centers to care for patients with a wide range of illnesses and health needs. Because of our size and strategic partnerships with local organizations, we can pool resources, share costs, learn from each other and be more efficient, thereby accelerating our ability to improve care and solve challenges.

Following in the footsteps of the Franciscan Sisters and looking to the future of our healthcare ministry, we chart our course by “going where we are called.”

TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

Our Lady of the Lake Hospital has TOTALLY changed my mind about a hospital.

Excellent care and super clean rooms. It was like the bad employees had been removed and replaced with respectable ones. My 3 day hospital stay was really above and beyond excellent. Highly recommended by me if you are having to determine which hospital to go to.

My husband had to have surgery, for Eagle syndrome The surgical waiting area has tea and coffee available. The staff was sweet and informative throughout my husband’s surgery and recovery time. His staff of doctors and nurses were phenomenal they made sure both he and I were comfortable, my husband had to stay overnight.

The date is 8/4/23. Even though my need for a PET SCAN to determine whether or not I have lung cancer was my reason to visit OLOL HOSPITAL today, the staff always has made me feel safe and very well cared for. Today was no different. Dale was my X-RAY tech and he couldn’t have been any sweeter. Miss Haly was also a welcomed ray of sunshine! I thank God and for His generosity in bringing His sweetest souls into my life. God is truly amazing.

Best place. I'm sure some docs are bad, but that's literally any hospital. The kitchen needs to change, though. There should be no reason for EVERY SINGLE MEAL to be wrong or incomplete. Even most of the staff know how bad it is. Please, if you know anyone in the head of this, please i think on behalf of all the patients who are here and are to come, they need to replace them. It's a major waste of food and money. No joke last night. we got 3 different trays of food that were not anything i ordered for my dinner, How do you mess up that bad and still have a contract with the hospital.

It is September 13th 2023 my husband is currently in this Hospital. They will not allow me to see him or to even check on his condition because we have a three-year-old child. I was waiting in the ER with her and was told she can't even be in there to wait on him so we have to wait in the hot car for him to be released and it's been over 4 hours since he was taking here by ambulance. This sucks for someone who doesn't believe in babysitters. They won't let anyone under the age of 12 be in the ER unless they are being seen by a doctor

Awful. Do not come here unless you want people who couldn’t care less about you. First time they prescribed me medication that I had an ALLERGIC reaction to & they do not listen to what is actually wrong with you. EXTREMELY inconsiderate ED.

Horrible trauma team of doctors! Husband was in an accident and had several broken bones, and had to have a chest tube, sent him home with site still open draining and bleeding , not to mention his concern of being discharged to soon because he was not stable enough to even walk on his own or have the proper equipment at the house just yet to help him heal and get around. Never saw the same Dr. And each one had a different story on care. And don’t think the case manager is there for the patients needs she definitely was not. I could keep going. We will never come back to OLOL and definitely do not recommend

In September 2023, my sister had to be air med to OLOL hospital. I did not know if she was having a stroke or seizure. She had a neurologist, a cardiologist, a rheumatologist, a pullmanologist doctor's check on her on Thursday said she had a bladder infection and lung disease, they discharged her on Sunday. A week later she was air meded to Hattiesburg, Ms., one country doctor diagnosed her with Sepis. She is in ICU as we speak, the infection is in her bloodstream. OLOL just needed an empty bed. Now she is paying the price for miss diagnosed treatment.well thanks olol for pretty much killing my sister. She passed away Sunday morning, it had shut her kidneys down. Now I am so heartbroken.

This is a hospital. I don't think that it's great but as good as the other Baton Rouge hospitals.

I was transferred here from OLOL in Walker ER last week on 10/13/2023 to have my gallbladder surgically removed Saturday morning. There were an obscene amount of different doctors that came to check on me in the ER before a bed was made ready for me in the surgical unit. Each and every nurse, physician and specialist was amazing with clear communication and explanation of procedures. At 48 years old this was my first surgery and to say I was terrified was an understatement. Every person was kind, comforting and reassuring to me. The surgery took a little longer than normal, but the surgeon himself spoke with my husband and reassured him - all things went well. My care was incredible, and I felt confident about being discharged that same evening, when the doctor asked me when I'd like to go home. I could not be more grateful for how the staff treated both myself and my husband while I was there. Thank you OLOL!

The absolute worse place to go if you are severally injured. I got crushed by a tree so severe on top of my head that it broke my neck, back and a rib. Instead of trying to provide relief, they're only goal is how fast can they send you home. Worse time in my life feeling the most vulnerable and one of their Drs, Dr Stevens was so rude and talked to me like I was a junkie. I was lucky to survive what happened to me and instead of providing relief, they would decrease the medicine they give you because all the wanna do is send you home I was telling them I'm still hurting and it's not working so what do they do, decrease the medicine and said I need to go home and I can't be home on IV meds. The goal should have been to help relieve someone of this pain, not treat me like a junkie seeking a high and make me suffer because you wanna send me home. Please if you are really hurt, don't come here. They make you wait pass the time they are suppose to give you your meds too. I'm no junkie, I could care less about a high. I was in severe pain and needed relief. There were times I was kicking me bed I was hurting so much. They assume you are a junkie so they let you suffer and I know that's what they assume because the stuff this Dr Stevens told me and how rude she was to me
