TOP important and interesting reviews from patients
- I have been going to Women's Healthcare of Illinois for several years. Staff have changed seemingly for the better. I have had the same practitioner for many years and happy with her care.
- Dr. Finkelstein is a fantastic surgeon. He performed a laparoscopic Davinci robotic assisted total hysterectomy (keeping one ovary) on me in May 2023. I am 42 years old with one ovary prior to hysterectomy and a previous c-section and emergency oophorectomy open abdominal surgery. I went to my long time gyno doctor with concerns of how heavy and painful my periods were getting and an ultrasound showed multiple large fibroids. She told me I needed a hysterectomy but said it had to be an open abdominal (off work 6-8 weeks), I said I wanted something less invasive and she said that I had no other options due to size of uterus and previous surgeries.
I went home and searched on Google and found Dr. Finkelstein. He looked at my ultrasound and said he could do it laparoscopically with tiny incisions and that I would be feeling “like a million bucks” within a few weeks after surgery. He was correct, I feel great! My recovery was so much better than my previous surgeries. My surgery was outpatient. I was staining my deck at 3.5 weeks post-op! I went back to work at 4 weeks. No more worrying about bleeding through my clothes at work and horrible pain for days. My uterus was 4x the size of a normal uterus and in addition to the multiple 4.5cm fibroids I had adenomyosis and endosalpingosis. There are other options out there ladies, open abdominal surgery should be a last resort! I also told my old gyno doctor about my perimenopause symptoms, night sweats being the worst of them. She blew me off and said I just had to deal with it. Dr. Finkelstein listened to me and prescribed a low dose estrogen pill. What a game changer, all my perimenopause symptoms are gone and I have energy again.
- The sitting time I got there in time for my appointment wait no more than 8 to 10 minutes to see the doctor and that's what I like. My doctor was very polite and Thor an..
