The most interesting reviews
- I don’t usually write reviews but I stopped in here to grab some things as I am staying in the city for work and just wanted to mention how great Lindsay G my cashier was. She asked if I needed plastic ware for my stuff and was just super sweet and friendly. I really appreciated it!
- This trader Joe's is always clean and orderly and well stocked. You may not find EVERYTHING you're looking for (tried to buy grapes last week and they were not available) but this location is well run with friendly staff and a large wine selection. You'll find it's usually a quick in and out experience at this TJs.
- Buenos precios, limpio, ordenado y completo
- The employees are very professional, the shelves are always stacked, Trader Joe’s has the best boba ice cream!
- The quality is great and I think is one of the best place to buy sea food. There is also tons of frozen products that are great
- Great location but underground parking lot is tight, at grade slots are tighter. Friendly staff but warning; vagrants may be outside establishment.
- Wicked fun, and wicked good. Just outside the hotel and made life so much better during our stay in Chicago.
- I love this place, every staff member is so sweet and kind. I LOVE the raspberry shortcake cookies! Don’t get me started on the dark chocolate peanut butter cups! Great prices on the flowers and plants!
- First time there. It was clean and organized. Staff was very friendly
I bought some frozen entrees. Haven't tried them yet. Will let youknow. Got to admit i can't pass by now without stopping in.
- I've always been a fan of TJ's and this location in particular. The staff is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, from the worker today who knew the exact restock date that one of my favorite items, to the extremely delightful cashier, Suzy, who noticed an odd smell from the broccolini that I was about to purchase. She proactively rang the bell, and an equally cheerful person appeared within seconds, quickly retrieved a new bag, which, upon Suzy's inspection, smelled better and was good enough to sell. These are the things that I appreciate about this location, and the reasons that I continue to be a customer.
- I have downgraded my previous review from 5 stars to 3 stars, and will restore my old review once TJ's reinstates legacy products that have been available for decades. I made a special trip out of the way to TJ's today specifically to buy Joe's whole bean dark roast coffee and was dismayed and appalled to learn they now only offer ground coffee. I have been a regular weekly consumer of TJ's whole bean dark roast coffee for over a decade, and because I exclusively use a French Press and pour over, I only buy whole bean coffee...
Given that all TJ locations possess a coffee grinder, there is no reason why they cannot supply whole bean coffee and allow guests to grind their own roast to custom specifications, as needed. I require more coarsely ground coffee than what is available pre-packaged, whereas others may require more finely ground roast. I am giving this review 3 stars, at least, because of the courtesy and professionalism of the staff and management. I will restore my 5 star review seen below once I am able to purchase whole bean dark roast coffee again, as I have been doing weekly for nearly 12 years. If not, I will shop more frequently at TJ's competitors, but will not travel out of my way to shop at TJ's if the specific products for which I am making the trip are no longer offered.
Thank you for your time and consideration... Trader Joe's remains one of the best places in Chicago, if not the country, to buy reasonably priced staple foods and specialty items. I became a regular shopper at TJ's when I lived in California a decade ago, and even though the Midwest locations do not always have the same level of fresh produce in the winter months (this is the Midwest, after all) as their California locations do, the price and quality of what they do have cannot be beat. I noticed today that a carton of eggs at a WalMart supercenter on the westside was still more expensive than the TJ eggs, not to mention the bread, cheese and wine selection. No, Charles Shaw is no longer 2-buck Chuck, nor is it especially drinkable, but they always have a healthy stock of Spanish, Italian and French wines for under $10 that far exceeds the quality of what can be had for a similar price at nearly any other shop in the city of Chicago. Staff are friendly and it is always a quick in and out. I also appreciate the fresh local items, like local pretzel bread for only 99 cents. Still one of the best grocery options in Chicago, and much shorter queues than any of the Jewel, Aldi or WalMart stores in the area. Keep up the good work.
