The Home Depot Dallas White Rock #550

Dallas, 11255 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218

If you’re living in East Dallas, Lochwood, or anywhere near White Rock Lake, the Home Depot at 11255 Garland Rd is pretty much the local headquarters for getting stuff done. Located right near the intersection with Jupiter Road, it’s the go-to spot for those of us who would rather spend a Saturday morning fixing up a classic mid-century ranch house than driving all the way out to the suburbs. It’s a high-energy warehouse, but it still has that neighborhood vibe where you’re just as likely to run into a friend in the plumbing aisle as you are a local contractor grabbing a coffee at sunrise.

What really makes this "Garland Road" branch a lifesaver is the Tool & Truck Rental Center. We all know that in our established East Dallas neighborhoods, garage space can be a bit tight, so there’s no point in buying a giant power auger or a floor sander that you’ll only use once every five years. You can just rent the pro-grade gear for a few hours, knock out your project, and bring it back. Plus, if you’re picking up something that definitely won’t fit in your SUV—like a new riding mower or a stack of lumber for a backyard fence—they have rental trucks right on-site to help you get your haul home without having to bug a friend for their pickup.

The Garden Center here is another neighborhood favorite, especially when the Texas heat starts to kick in. It’s the first place we head to find drought-tolerant plants and native Texas greenery that can actually survive a 100-degree August, along with the right mulch and irrigation supplies to keep your yard looking sharp. The staff—especially the folks at the Pro Desk—actually understand the specific needs of our local homes. Whether you’re looking for a specific part for an older home repair or need advice on the best grass seed for North Texas soil, there’s usually an "Orange Apron" around with a practical, no-nonsense tip.

For those days when you’re in a real rush to beat the traffic near the lake, the Home Depot app and Curbside Pickup are total game-changers. You can check exactly which aisle and bay your door hinges are in before you even park, or just order online and have the team bring your items right out to your vehicle near the front. It’s efficient, reliable, and run by a crew that knows how to get people in and out so they can get back to their projects. Whether you're a professional builder hitting the aisles at 6:00 AM or a DIYer tackling your first kitchen backsplash, this Garland Road spot is the anchor that gets the job done.

Business Hours

Monday – Saturday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Note: Curbside pickup is generally available from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The Pro Desk and Rental Center typically open at 6:00 AM on weekdays, which is perfect for the "early bird" crew to beat the morning commute.)

When The Home Depot was founded in 1978, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank had no idea how revolutionary this new “hardware store” would be for home improvement and the retail industry.

Today, we’re proud to be the world’s largest home improvement retailer. In more than 2,300 stores across North America, we aspire to excel in service – to our customers, associates, communities and shareholders. That’s what leadership means to us. That's The Home Depot difference.

Our founders' vision of one-stop shopping for the do-it-yourselfer came to fruition when they opened the first two Home Depot stores on June 22, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia. The first stores, at around 60,000 square feet each, were cavernous warehouses that dwarfed the competition and stocked 25,000 products, much more than the average hardware store at that time.

Today, The Home Depot is the world's largest home improvement retailer with approximately 475,000 orange-blooded associates and more than 2,300 stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The typical store today averages 105,000 square feet of indoor retail space, interconnected with an e-commerce business that offers more than one million products for the DIY customer, professional contractors, and the industry's largest installation business for the Do-It-For-Me customer.

DECEMBER 7, 2025. Earlier in the day I remembered something I needed while I was stopped at a red light. Across the street was a Lowe's, so I decided to go there. The employee was helpful in locating the product in their database, but it was only available online. I only had one choice. Go to Home Depot! When I entered the store I was greeted by everyone working at the front desk. I told them what I was looking for, and Itsuki found the item in their database. He walked with me to the isle, and very quickly found exactly what I needed. When he checked me out I realized the price was much less than Lowe's for the identical item. I have shopped at various Home Depots for many years, and have purchased several high end appliances and products over the years. Even though this was not the big sale of the day, Itsuki treated me like it was. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. Good people who work here + good quality products + a good diverse selection to choose from + good customer service = 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Reviews! My words of wisdom are..... Don't waste your time at Lowe's. Go to Home Depot!

Horrible customer service overall the absolute worst been goin here since I was little. I have went recently to bought 1 piece of wood had em cut it once was crooked so went back bought another one exactly like it had em cut again same measurements cut was incorrect and crooked again. Today my elderly senior mom 78 years old needs the cart/ buggy to walk to car they locked it by exit door and wouldn't let her take it to parking lot. They thought she was stealing cuz she had her jacket in the shopping cart. I just can't believe all those big prevention team guys laughing it up like they got some big fishes in shark infested waters makes me hella sick! I dunno how many times I lost count that I have had keys made and they never work down to key for lock for back fence to a key to open a car door. Save ur $. Shame on y'all seriously. A wholes.

Management are a disgraceful combination of dishonest and incompetent. The bulk discount on these air filters rang up wrong at the register, and the manager named Daniel lied to my face about it and refused to honor the price, chuckling to himself and telling me I don’t know how it works.

I’ve never had an experience like this at a big box store. Not that i always have good experiences of course, but management is usually able and willing to honor advertised pricing.

March 12, 10 am. One star for customer service.
Had popped in earlier during the week to get some keys made. None of them worked. Called guest services and they said to come in and get refunded. Went back today, explained the situation to the three girls at guest services. One was clearly new, she is excused, she asked another girl what to do. I was told they don't do the refunds on keys because its a kisosk and not home depot. Fair enough. But then, I had to ask no less than 5 times how do I get a refund, while the other two girls got progressively rude and repeated that they dont issue the refunds. Just tell me upfront what I need to do instead of saying, "we dont do that". Its customer service 101 to provide a solution up front. Which they finally said the kiosk has a phone number to call. Walk over to kisosk and the number for Minute Key isn't listed on the machine, as they said. A quick Google search gives you a refund option. Again, Customer Service 101- speak on what you know will provide a solution, dont guess.
Ive been in guest services and so I am incredibly respectful of all ages, and maintain composure. There is no reason to be rude to people that are asking questions and relaying what they were told by other staff for clarification.

Can't seem to get thier orders. Ordered an item online on March 20th. Was given March 24th for a delivery date. I live in the DFW metro plex. Website shows many of them in stock for next day delivery. Mine still shows only label created. FedEx has not received the item. No one knows what's going on. Customer care does not exist. Lowes just got a new customer for life now.

Had a most unpleasant experience with delivery of my washing machine. Needed new faucets. Was lied to twice about priority delivery after plumber installed new faucets. When I need a new appliance will consider going elsewhere.
