- The food was delicious as always. The zucchini chips with dipping sauce were an outstanding starter! My only concern was that it was loud in the back room; we would have sat outside, but rain was possible. Our server was incredibly busy but still made time to assure we had what we needed! They do need more glassware!!
- Great moussaka and bread, we organized a company event there for 40 people and things went flawlessly. Definitely recommend.
- As usual, Effie's food didn't disappoint. It was wonderful. The service was adequate, but not really good. They overbooked, and it was crowded waiting to get seated. Our waitress didn't really know much. She must have been new so didn't want to give a bad rating because of that.
- The food overall was decent for Greek. However, the service was horrendous overall. The delay seating, the wait for food, and overall snail pace was disappointing. They also charged an extra fee for credit card use which was not ever disclosed to us (which is illegal, it was not written on the menusl).
Most places in Philly usually are pretty good overall to stay in business, but I'm amazed this place is still open.
- Great service and endless warm pita bread. Unfortunately, the portion sizes for the vegetarian options were small, and the food wasn't very good. It's a cute place, but we were disappointed for the price.
- Effie’s used to be one of our favorites spots to dine in and get take-out. No longer the case unfortunately. Service is terrible and the food is always cold / not prepared well. The interior has been really neglected and the restaurant is dirty / not maintained. Not sure what happened but very disappointing.
- This is by far my worst resturant experience ever! From a rude waitress swearing at customers .. causing the entire room out celebrating their valentine to walk out before eating.. we chose to stay because it was already late.. she offered to pay for the remaining guests because of her behavior then messed up again by giving away what we ordered and told us to take what we got because it was free!!! Seriously?? I would never recommend this place to anyone
- We had such a great time at Effie’s. The food, ambiance, vibe, service (especially) .. Everything was just perfect. Great crowd and atmosphere with Greek music playing. So fun. Felt like everyone was family under one roof enjoying Effie’s authentic Greek food. I had braised lamb and mom had Effie’s chicken.Both exceptional! Oh, BEST CALAMARI I EVER HAD! I can see myself becoming a regular. What a fun night!!!! Thank you Effie :
