- If you are interested in cooking Japanese food and need authentic ingredients, this is the place to go. I go nearly every week to look at their wide range of miso, pickled vegetables, tofu, fish cakes, and seaweed. They also have wonderful Japanese comfort foods and sweets. Occasionally you can find fresh enoki mushrooms or shiso, but they always seem to have goyo (burdock) and Japanese yams.
If you like Japanese stationary or kitchen ware (dishes and unique Japanese cooking tools), they have that too along with some great books. Of course you will get wonderful service and kindness that you don’t normally get at grocery stores. The women who run this place are friendly and always smiling. It’s a highlight of my week and I always look forward to shopping here.
