- Wow, this was the fastest and most seamless car rental service I have ever had!!
I booked my rental through Costco (for the best dealsss) the night before, arrived at the HNL airport CONRAC area (around 3:20PM) with all the car rental companies, walked past the AVIS room full of customers without reservations, and went up the escalator to the AVIS preferred counter on level 4. I told the agent my name, gave him my driver’s license and credit card, then he told me the location of my rental car. And… that was literally it!! I walked to my unlocked car with the key inside, and got a text with a link to the exit QR code which I used to scan to get out of the lot (there is also someone there to assist who was very nice). The whole thing felt like it took a minute! The car was also clean and exactly as described! I have no qualms and would definitely rent again from AVIS! 10/10 Highly recommend!
- Quick, easy simple process really enjoyed newer vehicles too for late arrival when others were fully unavailable with their bookings. AVIS saved the day with our time zone change & late arrival to Hawaii!

With a wide selection of airport car rentals including compact cars for city driving, luxury rides and convertibles for surfside cruising and SUVs for journeys into the island’s rugged interior, Avis Car Rental is the preferred choice for business travelers to Honolulu International Airport (HNL).
Avis’s HNL car rental counter is located in the baggage claim area. From the counter, it’s just a short ride from the front doors of the terminal in an Avis courtesy bus to your vehicle. Once you’ve picked up your vehicle, a 15-minute drive takes you from the Honolulu airport car rentals lot right into downtown.
While your business here may keep you inside, you’ll most likely be staring out the window the whole time wishing you were anywhere else but a boardroom. When the time comes to break free, take a sunset stroll and enjoy the people watching on Duke Kahanamoku Beach, named for one of Honolulu’s most beloved sons and the man responsible for popularizing surfing outside of Hawaii. If you’re entertaining clients (or being entertained by clients) and want an exceptional view of the city, be sure to put Punchbowl Crater on your itinerary—this extinct volcanic tuff cone is just a short ride from downtown.
