When The Home Depot was founded in 1978, Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank had no idea how revolutionary this new “hardware store” would be for home improvement and the retail industry.

Today, we’re proud to be the world’s largest home improvement retailer. In more than 2,300 stores across North America, we aspire to excel in service – to our customers, associates, communities and shareholders. That’s what leadership means to us. That's The Home Depot difference.

Our founders' vision of one-stop shopping for the do-it-yourselfer came to fruition when they opened the first two Home Depot stores on June 22, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia. The first stores, at around 60,000 square feet each, were cavernous warehouses that dwarfed the competition and stocked 25,000 products, much more than the average hardware store at that time.

Today, The Home Depot is the world's largest home improvement retailer with approximately 475,000 orange-blooded associates and more than 2,300 stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The typical store today averages 105,000 square feet of indoor retail space, interconnected with an e-commerce business that offers more than one million products for the DIY customer, professional contractors, and the industry's largest installation business for the Do-It-For-Me customer.

Love shopping at Home Depot. However, staff is limited. I couldn't find someone to help me put the merchandise in my car and had to reluctantly resort to a stranger.

I order on line for curbside pick up. This was a complete waste of time as no one came out with the items I ordered, even after using their app three times to let them know I was outside waiting. ..No one bother to call me or text me letting me know what the delay was about. So don't do curb side pick up with this location, chances are you will be frustrated and disappointed. I cancelled the order, and ended ordering from trusty Amazon. Thank God for Amazon.

I hate going there, the workers aren’t helpful enough, the line is always super long and they don’t take Apple Pay..

Everything you need for your home and more. The service could also be better. Sometimes, it's hard to get help. I sometimes go to the local hardware store and pay a few more dollars. This way, I don't have to wait for someone. I remember Pergament. They were friendly and professional and always had someone to help you and then came Home Depot. The service is not the same anymore.

Waited for 30 minutes for someone to unlock a power tool I wanted to buy. I know theft is a big problem but paying customers need service. I left and made my purchase at another nameless location.

As usual, home depot store lacks knowledgeable personnel to actually support customers with what they need. Yet again, it is the most complete hardware store in America.
