TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

Very good hospital, good doctors, nurses and all stuff there are so kind, and friendly. They put patients first. My mom suffered a massive stroke on 8/23/23 and was transported there from Long Island, she was there for five days, the doctors and nurses took good care of my mom, and did everything that could be possible done to save her life. Unfortunately my mom did not make it, she passed away on 08/27/23 she was pronounced brain dead five days later. I must say doctors did everything and when I say everything I really mean it to save her but God works in misterios ways and he needed an angel in heaven. I’m truly thankful and will always be thankful to all the doctors and nurses that work there great job and may God blessed each and every one of them.

My daughter had a cranioplasty done here. The surgeon was Dr. Ben-Shalom. He and his team did a fabulous job before, during and after surgery. They are leaders in the field of new methods of inserting the skull and following up on changes after. Care on the 8th floor was excellent and we had a nice room.

This was my worst hospital experience. I had a surgical operation which took approximately two hours. I was transferred to my room after surgery.

After approximately three hours, a loud terrible noise started to emit from an Alaris Pump connected to the patient in bed beside me. After 30 minutes, Olga Fazylova (day shift nurse) came to fix it. 25-30 minutes later, the terrible noise returned. It gave me a terrible headache. The cycle repeated itself regularly from 6:00 PM to 11:PM. No remedy was offered I begun to experience extreme heartburn, and discomfort and pain from the headache. I requested Olga for heartburn medication. It took one hour for the medication to arrive. I requested to provide ear plugs. Olga said there were no ear plugs available. I requested a transfer to another room. I was informed by Olga that there were no rooms available. These two statements are outright lies!

Kathy Chester, the night shift nurse, upon my request provided me the ear plugs within five minutes. The ear plugs were no help but at least the ear plugs were provided.
She is a good nurse.

Per doctor's advise, I took a walk around the facility the next morning at 6:00AM. I noted that there were four vacant beds in Rms(6912 - 6923)/ URIS.
Stephanie Ye ( Nurse Manager), Rahel Birru (night shift Chief Nurse), Olga Fazylova ( day shift nurse) , and Mavis (night shift PCA) are unprofessional, rude, and compulsive liars! These people do not deserve to be in the medical profession!

I was in Lenox hill approximately a year ago. I was greatly surprised that the care was truly good. The nurse and nurse aides provided truly excellent care. The doctors were attentive, kind and addressed my concerns. I was initially very frightened to be admitted due to poor care I received at another facility local to my home.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I went to the ER and was later admitted for emergency surgery. Throughout the whole experience, the staff led with empathy at a time my husband and I needed it the most. Dr. Karamitsos was absolutely amazing and cannot thank him and his team enough for all they did for me.

Do not come to this emergency room, there are better hospitals a few blocks away on York Avenue.

My elderly relative came in from a rehab for an emergency room visit, and they admitted her and tried to have her transferred to their facility when she was already being treated by another doctor at a different hospital five blocks away.

She had stabilized in the emergency room less than two hours after being there. It took three more days for us to get her out.

The social worker refused to take any calls from the family and even ended up blocking my number when I did finally get through and asked her a simple question.

If you really want to see something funny ask any of the staff or the doctors for their name. They don’t even want to give you their names.

Run far and fast from this hospital if you can there are better options right in the neighborhood.

Radiology on 1st Ave and 66th.
Soap dispenser in the bathroom not working. I reported it to the front desk. The very next day when my wife had to go for another MRI there was still no soap in the bathroom.
If this clinic is missing simple things like soap in the bathrooms what else are they missing that can impact patient safety?

Normally Lenox Hill Hospital is great and provides excellent care to the people of New York City, but I have to write this review for their Maternal-Fetal Medicine & OBGYN Ultrasound department. I called two days in a row to make an appointment for my wife and they put me on HOLD for an ETERNITY. I lost my patience after 30 minutes on the second day and no one picked up my call. I am not a hospital administrator, but I know that a person should not have to be on hold for 30 minutes to make an appointment. Really disappointed.

I have been to Lenox Hill multiple times for different treatments related to my genetic syndrome. Every time I have been to Lenox I was always taken care of by the best nursing staff on the planet. The doctors are all amazing and are the reason I am able to continue living as normal as a life as possible. Everyone does their part and acts as a big family here from the cleaning staff, transport, nurses, and doctors. I would never go anywhere else for my care.

Thank you so much to Dr Alden, Har-El, Block car, Robbins, Joe & the team that helped me with radiation.

Definitely one of the worst hospitals that I have been to. I gave birth at Lenox hill based on its good reputation however my experience with the medical team and the nurses at the maternity department (labor and delivery) proved the opposite. The residence are clueless they come to check up and do visits but had zero knowledge of my condition and any points raised during their visits were ignored which made these visits pointless, as for the nurses most are very helpful and friendly, but onet of them called Amy from Asian origins was super rude and made fun of my critical condition with the residents in addition to using phrases like “ this is what you have to deal with” when I was in pain
I advise checking other hospitals like Cornell and NYU langone

Jose Rodriguez, who helps families install car seats for their newborns and toddlers, is the most wonderful human being! He has been so helpful to our family in our journey as parents, guiding us as we keep our kids safe in the car.

Mr. RICARDO THE SOCIAL WORKER IS INSENSITIVE TO YOUR AFTERCARE !! if you want great compassionate care, please GO TO NYU HOSPITAL since there’s more compassionate care here for similar issues.

My son spent a week in this hospital for emergency treatment and surgery. The care was excellent. The nurses and PAs on the chest and lung unit are wonderful, helpful, and passionate about their work. We felt we were in excellent hands. Thank You Lenox Hill!
