Wow so this place is so amazing. Ive been getting prosciutto di parma and mozzarella di bufala. You have to go here and get this especially in the morning around 10am ish. They make it fresh! So good! Trust me it is the best ever.

The best Authentic Italian Purveyors of hard to get Italian specialty foods

Still in Little Italy NYC

There is no finer imported Italian specialty food shop in Manhattan.

This family business has been continuously operated by the family for over 100 years. Today you can expect fresh imported meats and cheeses along with the back story on the maker and the style. If you are in a rush, this is not your place. The team here takes their time with each customer to ensure they get the highest level of service as has been tradition.

I can personally recommend their San Daniele prosciutto and their parmigiano reggiano which comes direct to the shop from Italy each season, which apparently makes a difference in the flavor. There is also fresh pasta, sausages, meatballs, plain and smoked mozzarella as well as fresh ricotta.

- Amazing selection of Italian product! I prefer this place than Eataly because the italian staff always help you with the correct choices.

- Wow. Great Italian market. The staff, the food, the vibe. It's all good. Absolutely would go back and recommend.

Love this place the people are really friendly and kind can't wait to go back

We emigrated from Italy and have been coming since the late 90's to Di Palo's. I am extremely grateful for Di Palo's and the connection we have been able to maintain to our roots and traditions.

I’ve been going to Di Palos since i have been a kid. My Dad was close with Lou and Sal for the better part of 20 years. The true meaning of customer service and always a welcoming experience. I am a lifetime customer

I thought I had tried the best fresh mozzarella in nyc. WOW, was I wrong because the absolute BEST is right here. It is something you dream about. The cheeses, I'm veg, but the meats I'm sure are on par with everything else. Side note, the cute son or cousin told me to read or peruse the families book next time you are waiting on line because you will wait a little. It's not a huge shop though, it's manageable and it's beyond worth it!

NYC's best shop for imported Italian cheeses and meats. While Eataly has more variety, DiPalo's tends to carry more obscure items like culatello di zibello or various types of Tuscan pecorino.

Just need to put up with the lines of tourists who treat ordering like they are in a museum.

A wonderful store that stirs the culinary senses for all things Italian. Helpful staff to offer suggestions, and give you some tastes of the fresh cheese. My dinner tonight was courtesy of Di Palo’s…their house made bucatini pasta, their house made marinara, along with their own bread and some wonderful parmigiana and Procuitto. So, so good!

As a southerner (from NC) visiting NYC we needed to find a place to get some real authentic Italian ingredients for my daughter freshly back from 3 months in Italy. Came across DiPalo's by chance as we were staying close by and once we found it we were there every day for something, even if it was the sparking water which was the same brand we got in Italy (and cheap). Such a great selection of authentic Italian meats cheeses and groceries- stuff we couldn't find anywhere else! And the service was something else - being tourists they completely failed to meet our expectation of grumpy and rude NYC shopkeepers as they were super patient and helpful with our questions while we were overwhelmed with all the amazing options. We hit the shop on our last morning in the city to take back some freshly made stracitella (for making ravioli) and prosciutto crudo. They made sure it was well packed up and gave some tips for our flight (i.e. have to check the stracitella - can't carry it on). I feel better about the world knowing a place like this exists and we'll be back next time we make it to the city.
ALSO, be sure to bring your kids or grandkids if they want to see how an old fashioned cash register actually works!

Mama Mia! Some still left over authentic Italian foods stuff. Authentic from an American perspective only... When you know in Italia where to go and get authentic, that's a whole other thing (yes even in Italia ... Cause who the hell is going to make authentic pasta for the millions of tourists all over ! And you though oh I'm in Italy and I'm surely getting authentic (microwaved :) pasta ! Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha

Excellent Italian Deli in little Italy. Highly recommended. Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses are the best in the city.
