The most degrading and patronizing experience ever. I cannot believe that this is the only pathway for obtaining a visa in the tri state area. I went for a visa appointment 3 months prior to my flight. Once there I was told I was missing an apostille for my federal background check and the correct health care documents. Everything else was fine. Once I went home I realized that the apostille process was heavily backlogged and would take 12 weeks which was after my departure date. Additionally, when they rescheduled my appointment, they assured me I would have enough time. They gave me an appointment 3 weeks before my departure date instead, aand after begging for an earlier appointment, they gave me one and then promptly emailed me back giving me an even later appointment date than the one I was begging to change. I just left the consulate in tears because all of a sudden the same documents I had the first time which were totally fine were all of a sudden not enough. I showed them where the women had checked it off on the checklist but all they did was blame me in such a condescending tone. Not to mention never answering my emails asking for clarifications to avoid this very experience. Horrible and feels like a human rights violation. I will be looking into reporting this to my state rep.

Left emails called about 4 times. No one absolutely no one calls you back. These people have holidays every other day. I don’t even know how they are still open. You should really change staff. I mean the reviews on this place speak for themselves.

Lamentable trato, teniendo cita previa nos han hecho volver a coger otra (para dentro de un mes) por que el trámite no era el correcto (certificado residencia -> alta residencia).

Sorprende la falta de tacto y empatía en un lugar donde se supone has de sentirte como en casa. Esto tipo de comportamientos generan la sensación de que a tu propio país le importa bien poco la suerte que corras.

Por otro lado llama la atención la ausencia de cualquier tipo de modernización de ningún tipo. Triste imagen la que se proyecta hacia fuera en una enclave tan estratégico como New York, Estados Unidos.

Lamentablemente tendremos que volver, esperemos que por última vez.
