ABOUT

Who are we? Well, we seek out the finest natural and organic foods available, maintain the strictest quality standards in the industry, and have an unshakeable commitment to sustainable agriculture. Add to that the excitement and fun we bring to shopping for groceries, and you start to get a sense of what we’re all about. Oh yeah, we’re a mission-driven company too.

The original Whole Foods Market opened in 1980 with a staff of only 19 people. It was an immediate success. At the time, there were less than half a dozen natural food supermarkets in the United States. We have grown by leaps and bounds since our first store opened.

Worst Whole Foods anywhere. Their management needs to fix their inventory problem, the shelves always seem half bare.

Nothing seems to have changed from 4 years ago when I first wrote this review.

Excellent store location. Clean and nicely well stocked. Deli items are served hot and fresh. Helpful store workers and managers. Seems to be neighborhood favorite.

Unfortunately, this is the worst Whole Foods I’ve been to in New York or elsewhere. The hot/salad bar is the saddest thing you have ever seen, always empty or what’s left looks like it’s been sitting there practically since the day before. Take a look at the behind the counter prepared foods if you go, it all looks brown and unsavory. The grab and go prepared food is nearly always out. It’s really surprising to see empty shelves and bins in 2023, but you are guaranteed to go to this Whole Foods and leave without everything you went for. Good luck.

This particular Whole Foods store has some issues with its restroom and seafood section. They tend to have an unpleasant odor, and they seem to rely on excessive ammonia to mask the freshness of the seafood, especially during the summer. It's evident that the fish may not be handled properly, leading to a freeze-and-unfreeze cycle that affects their quality over time. It would be beneficial if they implemented a glass-covered fish section, similar to the meat section, to maintain the freshness of the seafood for a longer duration. Hopefully, they can address the restroom odor and improve the condition of the fish section.

I've been going to this store since they opened and over the last year things have gone down hill. They struggle to have their produce and meat section stocked. Their service levels are much lower and prices have gone beyond reasonable. Thankfully two blocks away is traders joe with a great selection and fantastic atmosphere. So if you're wondering, Amazon, why this location doesn't make much money (which I"m sure it does not) look at your competition. You may just learn a thing or two. Juicing the max out of profit margins gets you less profit, not more.
