I can't comment on the treatment because my dog didn't get any. I called prior and specifically said that I was coming there for an ultrasound as all the other tests were done prior at our vet clinic.

We waited in the lobby for 1:45 min to get my dog looked at. I understand it's an ER visit, and I don't have an appt.

My dog is super nervous and has separation issues. He is not easily approachable.

I reassued if they were taking in for ultrasound and the they said the guy leaves at 4. We were there in the lobby since 3 after I specifically said I was there for just an ultrasound.

I had to leave the facility with no results.

That being said, great staff, clean place, and Dr Ho (not sure about the spelling) came out and spoke to us personally about future care of my pet. I greatly appreciate his time and concern.

If I could give no stars I would! Have used this place in the past and was good. However today we were sent over from our vet for emergency service. We waited two hours only to find out that there was no doctor to see our dog. This place is awful. Do not bring your pet there. There are much better places on Long Island to take care of animals in an emergency situation. How was this not communicated to us? We received a tag and all for her to be admitted!

Received the absolute worst service for my dog on more than one occasion. Do not come here for any emergencies. We took my dog here due to this being the closest emergency center and completely regretted it. They did nothing but charge me a crazy amount and tell me my dog is fine but then prescribed me medication because I kept telling them he is not fine. Didn’t even prescribe me the medicine we discussed and then the medicine needed refills. Received medicine recently that was needed to be refilled and when I called for days to refill it, I was given nothing but the run around. Finally they told me almost two weeks later after trying to get the medicine, they can’t refill it and I have to bring him for a neuro appt or I could bring him into the ER again. They never diagnosed my dog to begin with but yet he needs a neurologist? Was promised July 21st, I would get a call from their supervisor probably Monday. But it’s been weeks and no call. Don’t waste your time there, they don’t care about your animal just about charging you for the world to do tests and not diagnose your pet.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. Horrible customer service, they don’t care about your pet(s). I received a referral to have my cat seen by a specialist and they scheduled my cat with the wrong specialist so they call me back 2 days later to reschedule my appointment 3 weeks later! My cat isn’t doing so well and not only did the front desk receptionists didn’t care, but not even the MANAGER showed compassion. Instead the manager, Lauren said, unfortunately we have to reschedule you for that 3 week appointment or I can send you a lists of specialists you can alternatively take your cat. I, of course, accepted the list of specialists because I would never take my cat to a vet that has ZERO compassion about animals. But guess what? Lauren NEVER sent me the specialist list. The entire staff don’t seem to care, save yourself and your beloved animal and GO SOMEPLACE else.

We brought our dog, Pancakes to Long Island Veterinary Specialists last evening because she seemed to be having trouble with her mouth. Pancakes was examined quickly, and the source of the problem was located: a twig caught in her jaw, which was removed. We were very impressed by the care Pancakes received.

I am so pleased with the care that my cat Mayzie received by the Long Island Veterinary Specialists. Everyone made both Mayzie and I feel comfortable from the very short wait to the time of the exam. I would highly recommend their care for your furbaby!

This place was fabulous! They were so kind and caring to my Puppy . They knew what they were doing and did everything to help!i am happy that i brought my baby to the right place! dr Alina is amazing she called me over night to let me know how is my baby doing. Explained everything clear and did everything so fast. They safe life for my puppy so i am really thankful for all staff specially for Orlando and dr. Alina. Will definitely recommend this hospital.

Everyone was helpful and I felt that my cat was cared for when I brought her in because of chronic vomiting

We brought our pet in for an emergency and I can't say enough about the staff and service. 10 out of 10. Attentive staff, immediate service, and spotless facility. Highly recommend!

Bad memories of a terrible experience. Our lab had therapy for leg injury there and never recovered. We had to put him down and fought for un-used therapy we were required to pay for in advance. Had to pay in advance when we went there to put him down. They wouldn't let us see him for more than an hour. We begged to spend time with him at the end but we were made to sit in the waiting room. Then we got rushed through the procedure. We felt our emotions were taken advantage of. I am posting this old story again because they just made a $10k mistake on a friend's dog and will not refund him. And also posting again because my original reviews kept disappearing within hours of posting. ..

What an amazing staff at the plainview location. My son and I brought our beloved dog Loki in. They took him with care and compassion . Dr.Birkner and her staff were amazing and so was the front desk. Thank you for your services!

When I arrived with my dog, there was nobody in the waiting room but I had to wait a very long time to be seen and it took a long time to bring my dog back to me and nobody came out to let me know what was going on. The dr looked like a trainee and didn’t think she was having trachea collapse problems but that’s why I brought her there. He said she was a little dehydrated and had gastritis.
Not really happy with this place.

Do not trust your beloved pets in the hands of these people. This practice should be shut down immediately. A dog named Cali was brought here and they performed surgery on the wrong leg. Absolutely disgraceful. Clearly malpractice and now that poor dog will suffer in pain. They have handled this with a lack of responsibility, and as a result, a family is now grappling with profound emotional distress due to the actions of Long Island Vet "Specialists".

This business deletes bad reviews, if you want to see real reviews, go on Yelp, it’s more difficult to manipulate reviews on there. I brought my dog in for a left leg surgery, the referral stated left leg, all the paperwork stated left leg. My boyfriend and I mentioned her left leg multiple times during the consult. The doctor made a mistake and the surgery was done on the right (incorrect) leg. I’ve yet to receive an apology, instead they are saying this was a “miscommunication”. I’m not sure how much clearer we could have been that it was the left leg that needed the surgery. The communication was very very clear. Rather than escalating this to a higher-up, I had to keep speaking with the doctor that performed this grave error. I am the one that had to reach out to the director. It took 2 weeks to finally speak with him, multiple phone calls, and multiple emails. This place does NOT care! They don’t even have surgical consent forms for surgeries!! The doctor didn’t mark the site during her drop off in the morning. There are so many safety nets not in place at this hospital, that are in place at many other hospitals. Take your pet anywhere else other than here. The only important document I signed was an agreement to pay, that is all this place cares about. They want your money and that’s it. This place is beyond unprofessional, I cannot comprehend how this establishment has been allowed to keep their doors open. The office manager reply to all this? It’s not like we amputate the wrong leg (paraphrased). THAT is their standard!!! If it happened to me, it can happen to you and your beloved pet. Please please please do not bring your pet here.
