Chacho’s started about 30 years ago and was pretty unsuccessful the first decade because we mistakenly focused on costs instead of quality. We were not willing to pay for the best meats and cheeses and did not pay high wages. The result was that the restaurant limped along, barely eeking out a small profit. In the late 1990’s, the owner (me) started a new relationship with a woman from Mexico which eventually led to marriage and children. She decided our food sucked and said she could make it a lot better. And so she was given (or took) full rein to do so. The change was dramatic and sales quickly began increasing. Sales ultimately increased seven-fold until Chacho’s became one of the highest customer count restaurants anywhere.
We adopted a new business plan which was to operate with very high costs and make a profit on high volume. We decided to give bigger portions than other restaurants, buy better ingredients than other similar restaurants buy and pay our people more than they can make anywhere else. And this approach has worked, and we have been profitable enough to stay in business and grow, although we do not make the kind of money our customers think we make. We are now starting a new phase of growth where we are adopting new measures to increase quality and consistency. We are on a path to continual improvement whereby we collectively try to improve everything possible on a continual basis.

- This is drive thru only but SOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT. Huge portions and delicious food. I hear they're opening up their dining room soon. Try their burrito bowls, barbacoa gorditas (the tacos are delicious too), and only get the half order of the Kong nachos because I promise you it's enough to feed 2 grown men. Can't say enough about the place! One of the best foodie spots in houston for sure!
- The service was great, I came late at night, and they were busy, like Chachos normally is. The Taste of the food was there, nothing wrong with that. The quantity of the nachos and how the looked rush together there me off a little . They could of had an off night in that regard. Their burrito was on point a d was constructed better than the nachos.. I'll try them out 2 more times at this location to see if there is a difference.
The atmosphere is 3 star due to the place being closed on the inside.
- Great food, but you literally got to wait 35 minutes to a hour, in the drive thru, they hardly use the second line, hopefully u pick a day were cars are leaving the long line.
- We went through their drive -In- window and items were missing from our order, like an enchilada dinner and the guacamole that came with this dinner.
- Although Chacho's has been reduced to drive thru only the food is still as tasty as ever. Thanks for still being here and giving us what we love in Texas, delicious Mexican
- Best margaritas! Get the top shelf, you won't be disappointed. The nachos are so good, and the burritos are huge. Yummm!!
- A great place to eat after a night out. I’ve been probably at least 5 times now. Wouldn’t order anything but nachos, idk what other people are getting. Lmao Love the steak nachos
