My negative review is related to excessive dealer add ons. We went to Mike Calvert Toyota to look at a Toyota Grand Highlander. Our sales associate was very nice, though the environment was very much a traditional car haggling set-up. When we reviewed the final price, there was about $6,000 in dealer add ons (pushing the drive-out price to over $10,000 more than MSRP) that were non-itemized including tint, nitrogen in tires, anti-theft etc. We were told it was negotiable, to their credit. However, this practice makes it impossible to review and compare prices online and is obviously not consumer friendly. I did ask multiple times for an itemized list with add on costs, which was ignored. Prior similar reviews have been responded to with a comment like "The value items we have selected are ones we feel give our Customers the most protection and value for the dollars spent." My personal opinion, when you provide your customer with a high-value product, you make it transparent and state it upfront. You put it itemized on the website with links to the product. Usually there is a reason things are snuck in at the end with limited details or transparency, and its not to benefit the consumer.


This is the third car we have bought with Mike Calvert, and we will continue to so in the future. We are on first name basis with sales managers and finance. I work for a Houston dealership conglomerate and I still shop at Mike Calvert! I tell all my friends go to Mike Calvert and now we have a sales professional to go back to, Dom San Miguel was everything I like in a sales professional, helpful, not pushy. He listened to all of my wants and concerns and made my day! Thank you again, Dom! Keep up the good work.


I had a great experience at Mike Calvert Toyota! My salesman, John Hiatt, was very helpful, friendly, and was straightforward with no underhanded sales tactics. His manager, Juan Rodriguez, was also very helpful and put in every effort he could to get me a good deal. I highly recommend Mike Calvert Toyota, John, and Juan for any car purchase needs!

Update: Brand New 2023 Sienna sunroof leaks water during car wash. I’ve been there twice, they kept the van for over 10 days total and it is still not fixed. Now, they want me to jump through hoops by putting stipulations without understanding my situation, so it’s their way only.

Service department is such a joke!!! No one picks up call. It’s been 4+ hours but no one cares to update a customer on status. Plus, when you’re there get ready to spend 1-2 hours waiting.

I’m seriously regretting my Toyota purchase and specially buying at the dealership. I would advise everyone to STAT AWAY!

Recently purchased a new car from them, it’s below average dealership which you should just cut the deal with your salesman. Their upper management seems be a bit arrogant and really don’t care about customers at all. They even do not honor what has been agreed with you before, my sales man gave me the rate of 3.99% for Corolla and surprisingly upon closing they wanted to apply 7%! I ended up to buy this in cash.
Update: I had to take my car for the 1st service and it even worse. Their knowledge about car and it’s feature is a concern; they were also referring me to Toyota headquarters for a simple question which I asked, definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone else.

Ed the sales manager and Devonte helped my obtain a Corolla the shortages of cars. Mike also called and the finance person was equally helpful. Good staff and and very professional. The transaction was easy and I got what I wanted.

I thought the days of bait & switch tactics were a thing of the past….no so at Mike Calvert Toyota. I inquired about a new car they had listed on their website. I received a text & email about my inquiry. When I was able to call back, I asked if the car was still available and was told yes. I made an appointment to test drive the car and was at the dealership within an hour. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told the car was no longer available, it had just been sold???

I called and spoke to a manager, Patrick. After I explained the situation, his first response was that they do not hold cars.

Very poor customer service / sales tactics and a COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME! There are plenty of Toyota dealerships in our area…stay away from

Service was poor.Prince was pushy, rushy, detached and inattentive. There was more concern about selling the car "TODAY" thank providing any real information that was valuable for my desition making.

Made an appt for an oil change. Arrived and it would be an hour and a half wait. Sat in the driveway for 20 mins before the service tech was even able to get to me.

This is a really great car-buying experience. My husband and I were both first-time buyers here, and we want to thank Trung and Eddie for showing us various car models and providing a range of services for what comes next. We're really happy that we found the perfect car for us here.

I purchased 2 year 3 services, and finished the first there. Paco is the advisor, and he did good job! I am also confused by the report and billing, and he explained it well to me. Everything makes sense. The inspection is very good, and revealed several big problems of my car. They are real problems, and should be fixed. However, I just found fixing all things is expensive. I would like to compare prices acoss dealers and then make a decision. Overall, their service is good!

10/28/2023: I'd like to update my old review and express my deep gratitude to the Body Shop staff Judith (unfortunately I don't know her last name) and Christie Lay, and also Fernando Duran for being so friendly, helpful and professional during my last visit to Mike Calvert. Thanks to the employees like them I'll always remain the MCT's loyal customer.

However, a note for the HR: the main lobby's receptionists definitely need some customer service training.

7/24/2021: Out of all the dealerships we went to these guys were the most professional, especially Juan Camilo, very knowledgable and helpful. Thanks to Juan have got the car I was looking for. I would highly recommend Mike Calvert Toyota and personally Juan Camilo.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and lies it’s all about Toyota website prices on the vehicles and the seller saying that it was a “misstypo” ($5,000 difference mistake). We weren’t the only customer with same complaint. The sales person who was “The D’Angelo Experience” it was also a completely Joke, you can start judging by the name on his plaque, he was new, didn’t know the system, was making mistake after mistake and took almost 7 hours of our time only to find out that the price wasn’t the Real price for one of the vehicles and didn’t honor what they advertised on the Toyota website. Even one of the employees on other department said that it was the right thing to do to honor it and tried to help a little bit but it was just a mess. We only had that day available to get the cars and they already made us waste the whole day in there, so we ended up buying but WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN OR MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS to try Mike Calv. I have more complaints but it won’t fit

Terrible experience. Car ran out of gas on the test drive. Made salesman aware of my pre-approval and budget but he just used that as a base and tried to get me pay an absurd amount of money. Waste of time and ridiculous markups on used and new cars.
