Houston, 5085 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77056

Located in the Uptown District of Houston, The Galleria is the largest shopping mall in Texas and a globally recognized destination for luxury retail and architecture. Serving as a massive commercial anchor for the 77056 area, this multi-level complex is famous for its vaulted glass atriums and its immense scale, hosting over 400 stores and restaurants. It offers a high-energy, international atmosphere that attracts tens of millions of visitors annually, ranging from local residents to global travelers.

The mall is anchored by prestigious department stores, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Macy’s. It serves as Houston's primary hub for ultra-luxury brands, featuring flagship boutiques for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Prada. Beyond fashion, the center is a major entertainment and lifestyle venue, notably housing a full-sized indoor ice rink—Ice at The Galleria—beneath its signature glass roof, as well as two high-rise Westin hotels and multiple private office towers integrated directly into the complex.

What distinguishes this center is its role as a "city within a city," blending high-end commerce with unique recreational amenities and a vast culinary landscape. The dining options are extensive, featuring acclaimed restaurants like Nobu, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, and Musaafer, alongside an expansive food court and numerous casual cafes. Whether you are seeking exclusive designer collections, a world-class meal, or a unique afternoon of skating, the mall provides a comprehensive and professional environment that defines the luxury retail experience in the Southern United States.

Expert Opinions

Retail analysts and urban development experts frequently cite The Galleria as a premier example of successful mixed-use integration.

Market Dominance: Industry observers note that the mall’s concentration of "exclusive-to-market" luxury brands ensures it remains the dominant retail force in the region, drawing shoppers from across the Gulf Coast.

Architectural Legacy: Architectural critics often highlight the mall’s 1970s-era design, inspired by the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, for its successful use of natural light and multi-level pedestrian flow.

Economic Engine: Local economic analysts recognize the complex as a key driver for the Uptown/Galleria district, supporting thousands of jobs and serving as a catalyst for the surrounding high-density residential and hospitality developments.

Estimated Prices

The Galleria offers a vast pricing spectrum, though it leans heavily toward the premium and luxury markets:

Casual Dining & Food Court: Quick-service meals and snacks typically range from $15–$25 per person.

Fine Dining & Specialty Restaurants: Dinner at full-service, upscale venues generally averages between $50–$120+ per person.

Luxury Retail: High-end boutique pricing follows global brand standards, often including high-value investment pieces in jewelry and leather goods.

Recreation: Public skating sessions at the ice rink generally cost between $15–$25, including skate rentals.

Business Hours

The mall maintains consistent daily operating hours, though individual department stores and restaurants often have extended schedules:

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Friday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Sunday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Note: Many of the fine dining restaurants remain open until 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM.)

Tiendas de marca. Aquí no encontrarás ninguna oferta como en los Premium Outlet.

Muy bonita plaza, en especial el local de Tesla.

It is always a nice, upscale mall but it is a shamed that they close at 8pm on a Thursday

This is one of the biggest masks I have ever been to. There are a lot of stores to see and shop at. The ice rink inside is a nice little touch. There is plenty of parking all around the mall.

The best mall ever !! Better than the mall of America

Its another mall with good brands of clothes, Dior, Versace….. etc…. But the restrooms of the mall are soooooo dirty, is really nasty.

A madness homeless can walk on the mall and enter to the restroom and can follow you, i dont see in any moment guards or something like that. On the parking you can read mesaage about you Need be very extremly carefull with your car, and the parking smell nasty and so dirty. Is the worst mall that i visited in my Life. I never cake back. Now we have options to buy online all brands!

A ton of stores, an ice skating rink and a few places to eat. It's not as easy as getting out of your car and just going in though. It feels you have to walk half a mile just to enter. Through the parking garage and then a long walk way.

This mall is huge. Very clean. Lots of shops. If you have never been here, or if you're new to the Houston area, you have to put this place on your must visit list..

One of a kind. A lot of stores and space

Massive shopping mall, with plenty of fashion, electronics and food stores. You'll easily spend half a day exploring the mall.

Tik Tok addicts constantly video themselves, dying for someone to validate them while clogging up walkways. "Look at me, I am playing leap frog in the mall."

The Galleria is nice and all but there is a growing number of homeless people who hangout in the food court and the garages. I can't bring myself to eat at the food court anymore because homeless people will take off their shoes, socks, shirts and place them on tables where people eat. It's very uncomfortable. Other than that... I grab my food and go. The mall overall is nice.

Ñaomi a Clinique needs a raise today!!!! Her customer services skills, he knowledge of all the products I almost bought the whole store! She was very personable! Her energy is very welcoming and professional! Amazing experience. Thank you ÑAOMI!!! Proud to be a new client for life!!!!

The Galleria is so huge plan to go for many hours if you are going. So many stores to see. Lots of food places and entertainment for all ages.

The galleria is a place where Houstians and other foreign customers can purchase items that are on sale or items that are cheap and Expensive like Clothes, Jewelry, Food, etc

The galleria is located uptown District of Houston Texas in the United States of America , the place is known for their skating Ring on the first floor & it's water falls that produces water from the back of the building The Galleria opened 1975, closed and incorporated into mall space 2005) Marshall Field's (210,000 sq ft., 1979-1996 as Marshall Field's, replaced by Saks Fifth Avenue in 1997, incorporated into mall space 2017)

The galleria Simons market makes its debt to be established on Westheimer Road on Monday November 16 1970 You should visit it's a great place to be and it's very fun you just got to have the money to do it because if individuals don't they can be consequences and repercussions with the city police and security

Biggest mall I’ve ever been to! Highly recommended if you’re visiting Houston and want to shop. Just note, on your first visit the place is so huge that finding your favorite brand store can be tricky. Haha.
You also can enjoy ice rink!!!

It’s a really big mall. And is starting to feel dirty. Maybe take a few days to power wash and clean up a little bit.

I've been in Texas for two years now and this was my first trip to the Galleria. It was okay, not a need in life. The Christmas tree at the ice rink was beautiful though.

Such a huge mall, lots of upper end stores but there’s also plenty middle range classics and even some stores that are hard to find anywhere else in the city. Tons of parking and a fairly central location makes this a convenient trip!
