State of the art
Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is one of the most modern hospitals in southern California, featuring highly trained doctors and nurses, the most advanced and innovative healthcare technology, and the best medical equipment available today. This state-of-the-art hospital serves the community by providing inpatient primary health care services, basic emergency services, and health and outreach services.
General welfare
Our goal is to provide patient-centered care to improve the health of the community. We partner with other health care facilities and providers in and around the community to provide services that are not offered in the hospital. All care is organized using secure and secure electronic health records (EHR) so that each healthcare facility has immediate access to a patient's complete medical history.
Public health services in the hospital
The new hospital has 131 beds providing general emergency care. It has a 21-bed emergency department, emergency department, and placement and delivery services. It includes radiology and imaging, as well as additional hospital services that are most needed in the community.
The new hospital is on the campus of the former Martin Luther King, Jr. Port Hospital, as well as several other high-quality facilities serving the community's health care needs. This includes the MLK Community Health Center, which focuses on preventative care, as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. Outpatient Center, which is operated by Los Angeles County. The outpatient center provides outpatient services including general medicine, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, geriatrics, HIV and AIDS, neurology, orthopedics and physical therapy, as well as mental health services through the August Hawkins Mental Health Center.
