Dr. Joshua Ghiam - Los Angeles Cosmetic Dentist

I had to come on here, 5 years later, to talk about how AMAZING Dr. Ghiam and the entire staff is at this place. He did my porcelain veneers in 2017 and bonding on a tooth and almost 6 years later, the bonding is still intact and my porcelain veneers still look absolutely BEAUTIFUL. They’ve retained the color perfectly and they are so strong. So many times I got worried I bit too hard etc. but they are even stronger than my initial teeth. They don’t get chipped (he put natural chips in the teeth to give them character and not look so fake—I love that he matches them to your face). I don’t want to be dramatic but this man and his team changed my life and confidence completely. I love smiling and laughing again and I’m so impressed because they still look brand new and have never once given me discomfort. They are absolutely perfect and fit me so well. Not to mention the fact that I didn’t have my car out there and was working at Disneyland/living in Anaheim so I was ubering to LA, and the lovely receptionist would give me rides home or to a spot to get my Uber. She didn’t even expect any money or anything.

They were awesome—I highly recommend them and if I were to ever face and problems with my veneers I will fly all the way out to LA from Florida! I’m so beyond glad that I found him—every single one of them was so personable, funny, kind, eased any anxiety I had and worked with my parents who lived in Florida with their payment plan. The waiting room is relaxing, too, and the wait times were never long. They scheduled me again so quickly and efficiently when my temps kept coming out. They took their time and even though I was going to fly back to Florida soon, they still managed to get it done perfectly. And Dr. Ghiam’s bedside manner is awesome, as well. They are all amazing. This review is long overdue but thank you guys so much again, seriously.

Dr ghiam doesn’t know how to make comfortable veneers. I got my front teeth done with him about 2 years ago and the procedure lasted a whole year it was horrible . I kept telling him that I didn’t like how the veneers came out and he ended up giving me all my money back eventually after so many times of him trying to fix my teeth and me not liking the outcome. He told me he didn’t want my money and before I started the procedure he called my old teeth horrible when they weren’t even that bad. They made me sign a form that said I have to go to another dentist for my veneers I then got my refund check and I never saw them again .

When my dentist of 30+ years semi retired and moved to LA Smiles I went with him and I now enjoy expert care with them. I could not be happier.

A year ago, I had a virtual consultation with Dr. Ghiam. I expressed my needs for wanting to have veneers done. He told me explicitly that he doesn’t think I need veneers and that I shouldn’t waste money doing an unnecessary procedure. He advised me to instead get some braces and whiten my teeth if I were that concerned. He even went as far as to say, if I were his family, he wouldn’t have recommended veneers for me. I think Dr. Ghiam is an ethical and good person. So many dentists and surgeons prey on people’s insecurities and give them unnecessary procedures just to make money. I wish more people would say “NO” like Dr. Ghiam.
I also, never got veneers, nor braces. Just teeth whitening. :)
