- Very pleased with the very prompt service I received from the Avis desk at Miami International Airport. From arrival at the desk to sitting in the car took less than 5 mins.

I was also very pleased to actually get the car I requested, a Ford Mustang Convertible. After two previous rentals in the US not providing my preferred choice, I wasn’t holding out much hope this time. An added bonus was being given the choice of three different colours as well.

Marc Williams really helped us out. We got a car that smelled like dope, had a cracked windshield, and had the engine light on. He got us a new car in 5 minutes flat and got us out of there in no time. I hereby formally nominate Marc for employee of the year and a fat raise! Thanks Marc!

Car maintenance light came up day 1 of use... why does Avis hire cars that need a service and place the car hirer and their family at risk.. service was poor.. the pickup staff were unfriendly and so were the drop off staff... customer service is very low

I was charged $95 daily rate for the car that was quoted $42 at the time of reservation. Lookout for all of the additional charges and "fees" that are hidden at the time of reservation. AVIS also charged me tolls even when I used my own EZPass.

Way understaffed. All other rental car companies have no line. Avis line is 45 minute wait with just three people working compared to 6 plus at the other counters

This has undeniably been my most disheartening car rental experience. Despite my Avis preferred customer status, promising a streamlined process to skip the counter, my encounter at the Miami airport was far from smooth. I endured a frustrating 30-minute wait, followed by an additional 25 minutes at the counter as the assigned car wasn't ready. Directed to the 2nd floor for car retrieval, my patience was tested.

Upon starting the car, an alarming oil warning light appeared. Despite having already loaded our luggage, seeking assistance took an additional 15-20 minutes. Dismissing the warning, the person suggested driving off, a notion I wisely rejected. Instructed to return upstairs for a potential replacement, my efforts were met with challenges. After another agonizing 30 minutes, a different car was assigned, thankfully without any warning lights.

During the subsequent drive, peculiar sounds emanated from the vehicle. Despite these concerns, we proceeded with our plan to park at a Miami hotel before heading to Key West. Days later, en route to Key West, the disconcerting sounds resurfaced after just 20 minutes. Another driver signaled an issue. Pulling over, we were shocked to discover undermount cladding hanging off, scraping against the road.

Attempts to contact the helpline proved futile. Determined to find a solution, we located a nearby Avis branch, fortunately just 5 miles away. Detailing the issue to the staff, they suggested returning the car to the airport. Insisting on a replacement, the only option available was a pickup truck. Reluctantly, we transferred our luggage and children, marking the culmination of a truly horrendous experience. I strongly discourage choosing Avis for future car rentals.

I ordered a regular gas vehicle. Line was over hour wait with only 2 people working. When it was time to pick it up, they had none left. Was given an electric vehicle and I’ve never had one. It was given to me with 40% full and I needed to find a charging place. I looked all over abd the ones I found were either broken, or were not there anymore. I missed out on plans due to not being able to drive to where I wanted to go!!
