Any of our Pediatric Dentist are among the few licensed doctors permitted to perform sedation in infant, child or teen. Other dental offices refer patients to Petit Smiles Pediatric Dentist in South Florida for this reason. Your child can become anxious. As a result, they may not be able to relax or sit still long enough to receive treatment.
Any of our Pediatric Dentist may suggest giving an infant, child or teen, a form of medicine that can help them to relax and/or become sleepy. This is called "conscious sedation." Using conscious sedation may allow your child to become more relaxed. But the child will be able to respond to voices or stimulation and will maintain his or her protective reflexes. Conscious sedation may be used when a child requires a lot of dental treatment or has special needs. Petit Smiles can recommend which type of conscious sedation may be best for your child.
