In the architectural center of Montgomery’s medical district, Dr. William Streetman, MD, FACS, at 470 Taylor Rd #202 (Montgomery Surgical Center), represents the pinnacle of surgical craft and restorative care. As a board-certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Streetman is more than a physician; he is a biological navigator dedicated to the intricate repair and maintenance of the human body.

This isn't just a surgical suite; it is a center for clinical resolution, where "old-school" surgical philosophy meets "new-age" minimally invasive technology.

The Vision: The "FACS" Standard of Excellence

The "FACS" designation after Dr. Streetman’s name is a badge of distinction, signifying that his training and ethical conduct have passed the most rigorous global peer-review process:

The Minimally Invasive Specialist: Dr. Streetman is a master of laparoscopic and robotic-assisted techniques. By performing complex abdominal and soft-tissue repairs through tiny incisions, he prioritizes the "Fast-Track" recovery model, getting patients back to their lives with minimal downtime.

The "Generalist" Polymath: His expertise spans the surgical spectrum—from advanced hernia repairs and gallbladder removals to complex thyroid and colorectal procedures. He treats the body as an interconnected system, ensuring that every intervention supports long-term structural integrity.

Breast & Oncological Care: Known for his precision and sensitivity, he is a key figure in the community for surgical oncology, providing life-saving interventions with a focus on both clinical outcomes and aesthetic preservation.

The Atmosphere: Academic Precision, Alabama Warmth

Located within the professional landscape of the Taylor Road corridor, the office provides a sense of calm authority:

The Consultative Calm: Surgical decisions can be daunting. Dr. Streetman is widely recognized for his "steady hand and quiet mind," taking the time to explain the how and why of a procedure until the patient feels like an empowered partner in their care.

Streamlined Integration: Being situated at 470 Taylor Road allows for a frictionless transition between initial consultation and the state-of-the-art operative suites. The logistics are designed to be "patient-centric," reducing the bureaucratic weight often felt in large hospital systems.

A Legacy of Trust: As a cornerstone of the Montgomery surgical community, the practice operates on the "Referral Gold Standard"—it is the place where other doctors send their own families when surgery is the only answer.

Why It’s Unique

In an era of high-speed medicine, Dr. Streetman maintains a boutique surgical feel, ensuring that the "care" in healthcare is never sidelined by the "surgery." It is the destination for the Montgomery resident who seeks a surgeon with the technical elite-status of a Fellow and the bedside manner of a trusted neighbor.

TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

Takes ownership of his patient's situation. Relays his prognosis to his patient in a manner they can relate to.

The staff as well as Dr. Streetman are very professional and thorough. The office wait times are amazing. My surgery process was not a long dreaded wait. He got me in and scheduled fast. He reassured me everything was going to be fine and it was. He took great care of me during surgery and made sure to let me know if I have any issues to call him any time or any day.

Dr Streetman performed my surgery a few days ago. He was compassionate, thorough, patient, and knowledgeable.

The entire process was efficient and smooth I recommend Dr Streetman without reservation

Unfortunately, I cannot relate or agree with the positive reviews I have read. Rather, I agree with the reviews that speak about the poor bedside manner and condescending attitude. I cannot speak about this doctors ability as a surgeon, as I do not trust somebody that made me feel the size of an ant, to work on me after further thought. I was constantly talked over by him, corrected in a rude way (when simply just repeating what I had been told by my doctor), felt rushed, and was told that what i was experiencing just "wasn't possible". He also continuously looked out the window while talking to me, rather than looking at me, the patient. Seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there. I left feeling more confused than when I went in, discouraged, and frankly... just put down. I see why he has fast availability, if that is how he regularly treats people, as I will be calling to cancel and have asked to be referred elsewhere. On a positive note, the office staff was very friendly and attentive. I will give the office staff a 10/10 and do not blame them for Dr.Streetmans poor attitude.

I had to have an emergency surgical procedure, and Dr. Streetman was the doctor selected to perform this procedure. To say the least, during my hospitalization, I was not pleased with Dr. Streetman's bedside manners, nor was I pleased with him during my post-op follow-up visit. I'm not sure if this was because he wasn't my admitting doctor or what, but I definitely hate that someone of Dr. Streetman's demeanor performed any kind of procedure on me of any kind. I'm not comfortable with his practices at all.

Dr. Streetman, was very patient and professional while explaining my procedure on what to expect during the surgery and my aftercare. It was very easy to be seen and scheduling was quick with less then minimum of a wait time during my visit.

Streetman performed my mother’s surgery for a small bowel obstruction. He did a decent job with the surgery. However, his bedside manner is lacking and I say this as a fellow healthcare professional. He strikes me as quite rude. He also comes across as very arrogant, nonchalant, and can be condescending when a suggestion is made that isn’t his idea. For those reasons, I can’t in good faith recommend him if there are other options available.
