MENU DRINKS

Founded in 1927, and in continuous operation ever since, Brown's Diner has proudly served Nashville's best cheeseburger for almost a century. From its modest beginnings in a mule-drawn trolley car, Brown's has become a favorite watering hole for platinum selling recording artists and construction workers alike. Home of Nashville's oldest beer license, too many "Best Cheeseburger" awards to list, and an ambience that simply can't be re-created, Brown's is a Nashville institution that shouldn't be missed.

Locally owned since its inception and a proud family-run business, Brown's Diner has only had three owners in its nearly 100 year history. Bret Tuck is the current owner having taken the reins from Jim Love in January 2021. Bret promises to keep the Brown's soul alive while updating the Nashville institution to ensure it lasts another 100 years. Nashville has seen many changes around it over the years. As we celebrate our City's growth and prosperity, we promise that one thing will never change – Brown's excellent food at affordable prices.

From our family to yours, we look forward to serving you and sharing one of Nashville's best and oldest traditions with generations to come.

The cheeseburgers and fries are terrific, and the tater tots were fun too. The hush puppies are huge and tasty. We ate outside and our server was really great, kept all of our glasses filled and got our orders exactly right. It's a super place for a good lunch. Not fancy, just homey and delicious. Kid friendly too!

Nashville locals’ favorite watering hole. Fabulous, justifiably famous cheeseburgers!

Thanks to GM Reno and the owner finally making the Diner accessible to my power wheelchair by building a Very nice porch and ramps!

Yes I know it's a trailer. Yes I know the kitchen used to be an old street car. Yes I know this close to Hillsboro village you have a plethora of overhyped and overpriced restaurants which may seem better. All of them pale in comparison to Brown's.

Brown's has an atmosphere that is tough to match nowadays in Nashville. With a Santa's Pub, a Batter's Box, and a Bobby's Idle Hour Tavern vibe, Brown's drives home the idea of what 15 years ago Nashville looked like. Most nights feature live music, the pitchers are some of the cheapest you will find in Nashville, and there is a recently expanded menu which does everything it serves well.

As far as the restaurant itself the patio outside is awesome and they will give you the remote to watch whatever your heart desires. If you want to sit inside there is a dining room in the back as well as a good bit of bar seating. All of these areas are complimented by almost constant live music. The menu is pretty standard for what you would get at a typical southern restaurant but everything on it is excellent, especially the burger.

If nothing else sells you the beer pitchers are dirt cheap, so at the very least start your night out at Brown's.
