I love this place. It's iconic. The atmosphere is beautiful and special, and you can feel the history. Their infused vodkas are a must and the food is amazing. My last time there, around 4:30pm, I wanted to have a couple of different vodkas and a light snack before a show. The dinner/drinks menu offers a vodka flight (6 shots for $30!) which is great if you're with someone. The menu is expansive with a variety of terrific options. But I couldn't find something small to accompany my SIX SHOTS OF VODKA. While chatting about my options with the bartender, he alluded to a smaller version of a menu item, eventually revealing a happy hour menu that had been in effect since before my arrival. It offeredmore reasonable choices for a solo snacker/vodka sampler. It was too late at that point as I stared at the 4 more shots of vodka I couldn't finish wishing I had known earlier about the happy hour options. It rubbed me the wrong way. Is the happy hour a secret? Why didn't you tell me?! So that's why I took a star away. I still love you, Russian Samovar, but please make sure you make your clientele aware of all of their options so they don't end up giving half of their order to a stranger like I did.

We just celebrated my birthday here this past Saturday with close family and friends. The food was absolutely delicious, authentic and very generously portioned. The service was impeccable, timely, and accommodated a large party with ease. Their entertainment that included a pianist, singers, and a Gypsy band was very fun and lively and the ambiance is very fitting for what this establishment is known for and loved.
Thank you Nicholas and the rest of the team for making this special. We will definitely be coming back.

Great cozy (but luxurious), romantic, old school vibe - low lighting, elaborate decoration, live piano playing. Infused vodka flight (don’t be afraid of the horseradish and dill), pelmeni and medovik cake are a must.
