Some law firms that handle claims for SSD and SSI only take clients who have already had their initial application denied. We are different. While we certainly help people after they have been denied, we also help many of our clients file their initial applications. Because applying for Social Security disability and SSI can be such an intimidating and confusing experience, we will help you from the very beginning.
Our lawyers know the system inside and out
Most of the attorneys at our firm worked inside of the Social Security Administration for many years. In fact, co-founding attorney David Chermol personally litigated or developed litigation strategy in most of the major Social Security disability (SSD) and supplemental security income (SSI) decisions handed down by the Third and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeal during his 10 years at the Social Security Administration (SSA).
During this time, he also provided national and regional training to SSA’s administrative law judges with respect to disability law and how to issue legally defensible decisions. He is also a member of the National Association of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) and the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR).
We take a no-nonsense approach. When we handle a case, we focus on doing two things. The first is to win the case as quickly as possible. This is important to our clients and it is important to us. The second thing we do is to lay the groundwork for a successful appeal if SSA refuses to do the right thing. We believe that our strategic thinking, based on years working inside SSA’s Social Security disability (SSD) and supplemental security income (SSI) adjudication system, effectively helps clients.
