Kara at Avis Rental Car is SUPER AMAZING. She went to great lengths to make certain I was happy with my rental. This TX girl don't like them PA hills. I had the rental for just over a week and I can honestly say, it was the best experience I've ever had (minus the gas charge, that was added when I dropped the car off).

Kara was there for me start to finish and I am looking forward to doing business with her again! THANK YOU Kara, for being the beautiful person you are! I'm sure Avis is to have you on their team!

Picking up our rental was quick and pleasant. The sensor on the car did not disclose that we had fueled up prior to dropping the car off resulting in an additional charge, but this was quickly remedied when I showed the woman at the counter my receipt from the gas station. She was friendly and happily removed the charge. I will absolutely rent from Avis again on our next trip.

If you arrive at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) between the hours of 6 am and midnight Monday through Saturday, and 6 am and 3 pm on Sunday, proceed to the Avis Car Rental counter located right in the terminal. At all other times, exit the main terminal, cross the street and proceed to the Avis airport car rentals booth in the parking garage where an Avis representative will be more than happy to assist you.

Avis’s PIT car rental fleet features a wide variety, from compact cars to luxury cars and SUVs. It’s a 25- to 30-minute drive from the Pittsburgh airport car rentals facility to the city’s downtown core.

Pittsburgh’s fortunes were once tied to its massive steel industry. As that has declined, the city has re-emerged as a center of education, medicine, finance and technology. If you work in one of these industries, you’ll probably be visiting Pittsburgh a lot, so it makes sense to accelerate your travel experience with Avis Preferred, a complimentary membership that allows you to skip the line and go straight to your car.

In town, drive up Mount Washington for a view of the downtown skyline, then visit the South Side, an area once dominated by heavy industry and now populated by hip eateries and student hangouts. To inspire yourself and your colleagues, visit the Oakland neighborhood, where Pittsburgh’s wealthy industrialists built their grandiose homes. And don’t miss the Carnegie Museums, funded by one of America’s most famous business families.

From beginning to end, Avis is easy and friendly. I've used them from different airports and have had a pleasant experience each time. Keep up the great work!

They charged me over $100 to delay a day because my flight got missed. So $100 more for a day less.
I get to the rental counter and they dont have my car-or any car. The woman is pushing for me to take a truck. Very rude, pushy and unhelpful. I am told I can take what they have or sit and hope someone turns in a car today. I will never rent with them again and I encourage you not to either. In the end I am forced to take a car I do not feel safe driving.
Update
The rental I ended up getting had bald tires and low coolent.
The woman at the desk in the car port was nice and exchanged it for a different rental (but still not a car like I paid for)

Usually AVIS is a pretty solid choice when traveling however this trip was an exception. Upon paying for the vehicle I was handed the keys and told they were not sure where the car was and recommended walking around the parking garage hitting the alarm until I found it. No further help than that. After finding the car the passenger side was parked inches away from the car next to it. After loading luggage into the car we got into it and immediately noticed a weed smell which was further masked by cigarette smoke. Due to it being almost midnight and no employees outside we sucked it up and left with the vehicle. When we got to our destination to unload the luggage from the trunk we noticed the damage on the rear passenger side. (Which was probably hard to see in the garage due to the dark lighting and vehicle being parked so closely to another on that side). Again, usually AVIS is a pretty solid choice but not this time. After reviewing this locations reviews, it seems to be a pretty common occurrence of similar issues by other customers. The only reason they get 2 starts is due to the friendliest of the employee at the counter.

Edit: After calling Avis, they refunded the second charge of $615. The refund is still pending. But Carlos from customer service was very kind and helpful.

Sharing because Avis requested it. I generally keep my poor experiences to myself ... I reserved a vehicle and prepaid in full ($357) but was charged a second time ($615) after the reservation. My flight was delayed and I had to pick up my vehicle the following morning but I did not keep it late or pick it up early. The car was dirty with soiling of the floorboards and various pieces of trash in the back. Although, I could have overlooked this had my experience otherwise been positive. The indoor desk attendant was rude to my husband. There was no one directing traffic when we dropped off the vehicle and a man behind me (elderly in a dark garage) nearly hit me as I got my belongings from the trunk (this would have trapped me between the vehicles and could have been detrimental). My husband had to yell to get the man to stop as there was no Avis attendant to guide the man.

Prior experiences with this Avis have also been poor and I can simply no longer trust the establishment.

There was a woman at the garage desk when we picked up the car who was lovely! I wish I had gotten her name; she was the best part of my experience.
