Grateful to live in a city with a stellar children's hospital. When our littlest was in the NICU, she was treated with tender care and we received the nursing and medical support she needed. She later had surgery when she was about 6 weeks old with Dr. Waltz. He was reassuring, kind, and straightforward about the care she would need. We've been happy with all of our interactions with Children's.

I worked here for a very short time as a housekeeper.
The nurses were friendly and helpful.
This is the only place I felt where I had more positive experiences here than any other place I’ve worked at. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have worked here.

I’ll never be able to say enough good things about this hospital. They saved my sons life. We had a 40 day stay on the cardio ICU after bringing him into the emergency department at just a few days old. Every single member of the staff of this hospital is top tier. The cleaning staff does an amazing job and they are always friendly. The surgeons are talented beyond measure, the doctors are impeccable, the nurses are unforgettable. I have nothing but love for them all. The compassion the providers here have for not only their patients but for the parents/families is not something you can find just anywhere. CHP has fell in the nations ranking which of course is disappointing to see but they’re still top 10 which is fantastic! I do not doubt that they will find their way back up in the ranking. For reference our stay was end of 2022/beginning of 2023.

If your Child had or has an injury and you have to go here. Before you step foot in this hospital, know your rights as a Parent, maybe even seek some legal advise first. In my opinion and the opinion of many others I have spoken with since, they judge everyone as Guilty and they do not reason with accidental injury's to a child. CPS is a familiar face at this location for this reason and other true needed reason as well, of course, but it is easier to accuse you than to not.
Just know your rights first it, will serve you well to do so if you have to go here.

Absolutely amazed at the care my son received at the ER. All the doctors and staff treated him so well. I'm so thankful that we have a facility that treats kids like kings! Not only did they talk to him about his care they took what he said into consideration and just didn't talk to the parents to find out his symptoms. GREAT JOB!

Incredibly slow, rude receptionists, and don't enforce masking on patients hacking their lungs out.

This place is so understaffed it isn't funny.

I took my 4 year old in for high fevers and vomiting. They gave her Motrin and zofran as soon as we got there. I had been telling them that she’s been on Tylenol and Motrin alternating, because that’s the only thing that’s kept her fever down. She got diagnosed with a UTI. They gave her an antibiotic through her IV, which they tried to do intramuscularly, but luckily her dad spoke up and they laughed it off and said they read it wrong. Cool, she almost got two very painful injections for no reason. They gave us the option to take her home or let them keep her for observation, but gave me no indication that it was anything beyond a UTI. She had her follow up appointment today and she has a severe kidney infection!! The doctor couldn’t believe they didn’t specify or disclose that to us. And told us to continue giving her Motrin, which the doctor today said absolutely not because it can hurt her kidneys more. SHES BEEN ON MOTRIN EVERY 6 HOURS FOR DAYS. You’d think if they knew it was a kidney infection, they’d have the common sense to not continue Motrin. I’m very dissatisfied with this experience and am heavily considering taking her elsewhere if she hasn’t improved by Friday. Absolutely ridiculous. She is a small child that could have gone septic. Totally inexcusable.

This is the 4th inpatient stay for my child in the past year. Will be discharged today and just like every other visit, they have no answers for her multiple symptoms to include a fever EVERY week for a year. In fact, like the other stays, she will be discharged on the same meds she was on when admitted (and didn't work). What a huge waste of time and money. The professionals lack the curiosity to find answers. So so disappointed and frustrated. While some of the professionals care, it is obvious many do not. Like every other discharge, we'll be back in a few months to run the drill yet again.

I should not be giving the hospital this rating…

Some of the staff members are amazing people! But I question the doctors…

My son was in the ER a few weeks ago and they scanned his head because they thought it was too big for his body… I simply asked them if the scan came back normal and they said everything was great. They failed to tell me that he had a clot on his brain!!!! And now we are back at the ER and just learning about the clot from a few weeks ago… we got sent here in ambulance.. because he threw up A LOT of blood… my son is a newborn… save your child and go somewhere else.

I’m so disappointed!!! It’s suppose to be a good reliable hospital

I want to thank everyone at UPMC children's hospital for saving my granddaughters life . Outstanding performance by everyone, thank you so much for figuring out what was wrong and not giving up and sending her home. Thanks so much you guys are wonderful..........well that review was a joke......had to come down again and this time I'm not allowed to stay so I have to sleep in the car while it's 40 degrees out side. ...yet was ok to stay when it was a life threatening issue, since it isn't I'm out in the cold. And the nurses are making a big deal out of it. So if you have to come here just remember 1 person with whoever is the patient is a little ridiculous. Very disappointed this trip .I would give it a -10 if I could.
