- I showed up late afternoon on a Wednesday and needed a “Dominican cake,” the woman who helped me was super patient with my indecision (the cake color choice was limited due to the filling I wanted). When I commented about needing a very fresh cake with the dulce de leche filling, she had me wait while she checked the back. She returned with a blue frosting cake in my price range. People at my job who never had Dominican cake really enjoyed it. Please note you can have your cake color choice and desired filling (pineapple, crema de leche, guayaba) if you plan ahead! If you show up last minute you’ll get a cake but it may not be the size, color, and filling combination you desire. Thankfully I’ve been here 2x within the last 4 months and they’ve had the cake size I needed on hand.
I also tried a piece of flan with cornflakes, yes, cornflakes. If you like soggy cornflakes and flan this is for you. I’ll skip the cornflakes next time. Glad I tried something new. I also recommend calling or planning ahead for pick up. I thought I could pick up a cake for work at 9am last Thursday; thank goodness I called the afternoon before because they were not going to be opened at 9am on Thursday.
