Your rental expererience will also be positive if you make a reservation online first and read all the Terms and Conditions about your Rental so there are No Surprises when you arrive (or fake surprises on your part).
This means to expect paying an upfront Deposit/ Hold to rent any vehicle. This is required at many companies (not just Avis/Budget) because of irresponsible Renters in the past years who have abused the cars, smoked in the vehicle making them very difficult to restore to healthy, or tried to not pay for the Vehicle they rented.
