What Can I say about metropolitan hospital let’s start with compassionate healthcare they have none! I was there for 33 days of hell! Would not come to my room when nurse call button was pushed would wait 30 minutes to 2hours almost had a bowel movement in bed could not get to me in timely matter no pain management was in extreme pain with staph infection in my testicular area finally moved me to another hospital was treated for 11 days 3 surgeries skin graphs this new hospital treated me like I was a human

Great service great nurses so I know the difference! Thank goodness they moved me to another facility before they killed me! They had me tied to my bed for 8 days after they pulled me out of comma! What a nightmare 33 days of hell I will be making a formal complaint to hospital administrators also the food sucks!

The entire staff were the most friendliest and caring people I have ever seen in a hospital. The food was pretty good as well, surprising for a hospital.Thank you for the great care.

It was horrible!! My husband has a terminal illness and it's end stage so he was taken by ambulance to this hospital. To make a long story a little shorter, he ended up on a bed in the hallway with three other people . They had to do and in and out catheter to collect urine but they never sent it to the lab. They through it away. My husband was out in the hall with no call light and the nurses were talking to other patients. They told us it could take 2 days to get into a room. I guess that goes only for some people because one of the nurses was talking to a veteran patient and she said that his money was important and the others is not. Yes, my husband is on Medicaid because he is disabled but it shouldn't matter. ALL LIVES MATTER!!!!

This is aweful. I don't ever want to go to the ER at Metropolitan Methodist again!! The last time my husband was in the hospital there, it was wonderful. He was in icu and everyone was wonderful but tgat ER needs work.

I have been here for 4days. So far I have not been treated popularly. First they take flor ever to come to u when call the call button. Everytime u call they take about an hour. Before they come to u. Second they tell u things in the last minute or don't tell u anything on whats going on. I know there's other patients. But this has been ridiculous. Been very angry and frustrated these last 4 days. I tell u one thing. I will not recommend this hospital to my friends or family. The staff here has to be more prepared and organized. Thank you.

My son was admitted on Tuesday of last week. Was kept in the ER examination room until Friday at 1 am , he was finally moved to a room at 130 am friday.. Was told he possibly had two different things. But the could not tell because of the swelling. Was seen by a doctor ,surgeon in Tuesday. They wanted to move him into the hallway, to make room for someone else.Mind you he was admitted to the hospital they kept telling us he was getting moved into a room since Tuesday night.. Told by a nurse he needed surgery Friday morning after looking at his chart. That is not a nurse's responsibility Finally moved to a room Friday morning after 1 am only to be released at 5pm. Was not seen by the doctor , not given a diagnosis. Was only given liquids on friday. Apparently they were instructed he should have started a bland diet and liquids a few days before. But failed to order any meals or give him liquids. Eventhough we both asked several times. He was never given a diagnosis or information regarding what the issue was. He found his diagnosis online. I am extremely disappointed, it was clear to me that patient care is not a top priority here. I will be reaching out to my insurance company and filing a complaint regarding the lack of care. And requesting an itemized bill.I am sure they will try to bill for services not rendered. Worst experience so far.

I was just discharged from this hospital about 30 minutes ago. I had to write this review as soon as I got home.

I was admitted to the 4th floor on Sunday 09/24/2023 around 8:30 PM. First off I have to say, if I was reviewing the nursing. Lab staff, ultrasound tech, nuclear medicine, and housekeeping staff alone, I would have gone more than 5 stars! Ashlie and Ashley (one AM and one PM), Lorena, Santiago, Melissa and Rosa from housekeeping, thank you for making an uncomfortable situation more bearable. Your empathy and caring were evident in everything you did for me. It’ is the care from the cardiologist that concerns me.

I had all the tests done and never ONCE saw the cardiologist! No results, no resolution. I spent 2 nights and 3 days in that hospital for posible cardiac issues with no contact from the cardiologist! After I mentioned these concerns to my nurse she called the doc and was given orders to discharge me and have me follow with her in two weeks! Follow up from what? My blood pressure issues were not resolved and I can’t even tell why I was even in The hospital! I only hope nothing takes a turn for the worse before I seek medical care from a real doctor that is NOT Dr. Azarbar, Cardiologist!

I will be filing a complaint with my insurance company and any other appropriate entities.

The Women’s hospital is horrible. The staff, secretaries, & all nursing staff were rude & disrespectful. This has been the worst medical experience we’ve had.

I had to bring my Dad to the emergency room and while I was waiting for the Doctors to run some test on my Dad I was in the waiting room where I witnessed the most horrible service from the person in charge of the check in. Mind you this is the emergency room!!!!
I understand people and be grumpy and mean when they are in pain but the people that I witness go to the check in station and ask questions to this individual were not rude. They had normal questions about how long will it be for them to get seen. This rude person will talk to this people with arrogance, attitude and frustration! He had no empathy for anyone at all. People come to a hospital seeking for medical attention. Some people should really not go into the medical field if they are not willing to feel empathy for others. I witness an old man stated he was blinded and could not see and this man was still questioning him about his SSN!!! HIPAA violation!!! A female coughing her lungs out and she stated multiple times that the man in the front was arrogant. This place was really good and I remember the staff would really care about the people. It just sucks to see all this people in pain and no one have any empathy for them.

Would not recommend to anyone at all . The nurses and pca neglect their patient. The nurses say nasty things , the pca seem more concerned about gossiping than doing their actual job. Overheard a nurse talking ugly to a housekeeper , that same housekeeper cleaned my room and I could tell she seemed upset. Apparently the nurses and pca don't like cleaning after patients when they have accidents, or throw up. Guess they expect the housekeepers to do it , overall just a bad experience. The housekeepers where the only ones who were nice to us. It was on the 7th or 6 floor btw.

First off, the nurses that tended to my mother were all very compassionate and supportive. Kudos to all the nurses from triage on up. Now, when we talk about “Dr.” Desiree Papas, yes that is her last name, well that’s a whole different story. She was nice at first but throughout the duration of my mom’s treatment, she became cold and dismissive. My mom stayed 3 days and Ms. Papas trotted in saying, “I have good news, you get to go home.” The nurse tending to my mom looked at my mom and my mother looked back at the nurse. My mom said, “What do you mean? I still feel really sick. Can’t I stay just one more day?” Pappas replied, so you don’t want to go home? You’re telling me that you would deprive someone of that bed? There isn’t anything you can’t do for yourself that we are doing for you here.” Well my mom was discharged against her wishes. Mind you, my mom was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a pinpoint perforation on her bowel, low o2 levels, E. Coli and possibly c. diff (which she was never tested for and is contagious). Fast forward, my mom is now in your sister hospital, Methodist Hospital Atascosa. Her perforation has grown from pinpoint to 4mm, she tested positive for c. diff, and her infection has gotten worse. So good job, no excellent job “Dr.” Pappas! Way to hold up to the oath you took as a medical doctor! Pray that my mother doesn’t die from your stupidity and lack of compassion! She is in sepsis because of you. Idk how you sleep with yourself at night.

I took my older sister who is non-verbal and is disabled and who recently was diagnosed with Lupus two weeks ago to the ER yesterday bc she fell and has a high fever. They took her in immediately and did some blood and urine labs. They started her on Rocephin antibiotics (IV). About 30 minutes later, the nurse came in and told me that She was Covid Positive. Shortly after the IV was done my sister started shivering and shaking uncontrollable. She was also having trouble breathing. They checked her temp and it was 102°. They called the doctor Dr. Mallard (He was amazing and ordered steroids and Benadryl to prevent a possible reaction) they moved my sister to Trauma Room #1
After my sister was able to control her breathing and was calm, a “FEW” nurses (RN’s) in this department treated us terrible. My other sister came in to sit with my older sister so that I can take go home and rest, and she stated that my sister needed to go to the rest room and they did not come in after an hour later to help her. My sister had already peed on the bed so my sister cleaned her up and then changed her. When I went back “RN John” was rude when I asked if I can have an update on my sister’s lab works. He told me that “I had a lot of family asking about my sister who is non verbal” which was a lie bc only my sister who went to relieve me and I were asking questions. While I was waiting for almost 3 hours, no one came in the room to check on my sister even while the machine kept beeping. Then a female nurse who I didn’t get a name said “that’s my sister was ready to be discharged since we were whining” she didn’t even explain the discharge ordered then said she was ready to leave. She got upset when we told her that “It would help if you can do your job and take her IV off” then she did it in an ugly attitude. This hospital “Used” To be very professional, but as today, I will never recommend ANYONE coming here!
People come here for medical help and expect to be treated by professionals who love doing their job and not leaving here feeling with an horrible experience.
