- Stopped by for breakfast on a Friday morning. Even though it was a weekday, it was still crowded since there's no more than 10 tables. However, service is fast and the tables are constantly clearing out. Also, the parking is very small, so cars are double-parked on purpose. If someone leaves first, people have no problems moving their car.
There are so many options as there's really no set menu. Throughout the restaurant, you'll see many different menus as it's constantly evolving from customer favorites. I did a combination of reading menus on the wall and viewing pictures online. Tried many different tacos and had to get the Puff-Chilada. All the tacos were very fresh, large and filling. I'd recommend looking at plates as they come out before ordering several tacos. Puff-Chilada lived up to the hype, especially as I was skeptical of it. One of the best parts of coming to Maria's is the service. Everyone treats you like family and it feels just like eating at home. There was only 1 waitress and she did an amazing job of juggling all the food orders, refilling drinks, cleaning tables, etc... all by herself. Restaurant is small and crowded, but that's part of the charm and the food was great.
- Super delicious just a really small and cramped place. I hope they get a bigger location. They deserve it off the food alone. Almost no parking area. They have a bunch of crazy tacos but plate shown is the Milky Way. Chilaquiles with barbacoa and papas con chorizo
- One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! I barely even glanced at the menu - Tom (Maria's husband) just asked me what I liked and ordered me the perfect plate with everything that I wanted to try. The enchiladas and brisket were mind-blowing, and the service felt like family. Thank you for the perfect welcome to San Antonio!
