REVIEWS

Cold, uncaring bureaucracy. Impossible to get any appointment for any serious condition in any reasonable time. Some referral reviews take up to a month. ER has 10hr waits. The word "medical care" does not really apply to UCSF. But I am sure they do fine research.

The nursing staff was great but the hospital felt my son’s insurance wasn’t good enough and moved him to a sister hospital in the middle of treatment. The sister hospital basically bounced him out and denied any further treatment for the same reason.

I was tortured 30 years ago in that hospital they strapped hands and ankles down. I was only 6 years old, I never forget that. That was the day they broke my mind the day myself became two minds one is Pain and tortured the other myself the sweet person I am. I still remember that like it just happened. The day that was tortured. I can still hear myself screaming for my parents to make them stop. But they did not stop. Me continuing to screen. After that was first time I realized listen to the voice that would guide me closer to pain and torture side. I have thank to Dr. Portola for release the evil into my heart and pain and torture. Nothing really scares me anymore because. The only thing I know is pain, i do not understand happiness and joy. I want people to hear my voice and understand what they did to me and and they will continue to children.

I was here during the height of the pandemic. While tensions were on the rise, the medical and supporting staff were impeccable with their bedside manner, professionalism, safety measures, and the way they cared for me and my family was amazing

I have spent 2 times in this hospital. One want a 5 day procedure for an infection and the other 1 for an operation. Which I was there for about 14 days, each time I was treated with most respect and to whatever I needed.

This is a combined rate:
5+stars for nurses (they amazing!!!!!)
and 3 stars to doctors. And again some doctors deserved 5 stars (attending doctors change every 3-4 days, then they will pass you to the next doctor). By the time the last doctor during my son’s admission took over, he completely misrepresented the diagnosis all previous specialists had given my son based on test results and history of the illness, as well as the main reason my son was admitted to the hospital. He also refused to provide a consultation with specialists my son’s PCP requested.

Beautiful view from a private room on 13th floor

This a review on their billing, not hospital service. They incorrectly charged, incorrectly billed our insurance, lied to us about California law, and after many discussions refused to fix with insurance provider directly. Our son was born on 9.28. They send us a bill on 4.15 for the birth and discharge of our son. I call on 4.28 in which they admit they did not charge my wife/sons insurance (they charged mine which rejected it as duplicate). Another bill comes. I call on 6.30, after talking to wife/sons insurance. our insurance sates UCSF incorrectly billed and that they called UCSF to get it resolved. 7.24 I get another bill. we call UCSF they provide no further information. they state that we have to pay as it goes towards our sons deductible. However that is to true, delivery charges are included in wife's insurance deductible. They refused to reach out to insurance company to resolve.
