Parada 22 is a casual and affordable restaurant serving home style Puerto Rican cuisine in San Francisco's storied Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

Parada 22 is named after consulting chef Gloria Pinette’s neighborhood bus stop in her home town of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Gloria and her cousin Philip Bellber created a menu of authentic Puerto Rican dishes that will be instantly familiar to anyone who's lived in Puerto Rico. Cousin Philip is no stranger to Latin cuisine. He's also the founder / owner of San Francisco culinary institution Cha Cha Cha. Over the years, Philip has launched many favorite neighborhood eateries such as The Corner, Boogaloos. Bitterroot, Spaghetti Western and also Nightbreak, a storied alternative music venue.

Located at 1805 Haight Street (between Shrader St & Stanyan St), Parada 22 is an exciting new complement to Cha Cha Cha, which is located right next door. It's an intimate space, with only 10 tables. They don't take reservations yet - so plan to arrive early to avoid a wait. They also offer take-out. Reviews from customers and the local press have been very flattering.

Parada 22 was pretty busy at 6:30pm on a Monday. I was browsing CD's down the block and got hungry. The best seats are the ones facing the kitchen where you can see all the different dishes roll out. O, the smell also. It smelled wonderful in there. My meal was the Puerto Rican sampler $22 (maduros (fried plantains), chicharrones de pollo (fried chicken), pernil asado (pork shoulder), yuca al mojo (root vegetable) and tostones (fried green plantains.) This was a nice change of pace from my monotonous rotation of usual restaurants. The best part of the pork shoulder. The other stuff were OK. Service was excellent and fast. I was out of there within 45 minutes. Overall, a great experience.

Great experience!

Walter provided an amazing service. Very knowledgeable of the menu and great suggestions. Everything was fresh and extremely flavorful. Portions are perfect! Make sure you order the spicy sauce. It’s hot! 10/10 must recommend!

Beautiful authentic Puerto Rican vibes. Great ambiance. Food is amazing! Service is simple and friendly. Must try this place!

Really enjoyed the food. Cleaned the plate off, but I was also starving after a long day of hiking. Small, cozy seating area but also a little noisy with music and people talking. Was a good choice, but prob won't got back soon.

Music is to loud. Food portions extremely small. Beers served on a ramekin and rice in a form of a ball. Probably 2 spons smaller than a tennis ball. Chicken had no flavor whatsoever. No salt and tasted burnt. Big mistake... Sorry for the owner, your heart must be really small for heart portions lol.
