TOP important and interesting reviews from patients

My sister was flown from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to UW Montlake after 60 days in the hospital in CDA. My sister was very sick and UW teams of doctors were amazing. All of her nurses were very kind, compassionate, caring. When she finally went on palliative care because there was nothing more they could do for her. Everyone was so kind, bringing all of our family drinks, food, whatever we needed. I and her two daughters spent the nights with her, which was hard but she did not pass away alone.

Even though my sister passed away in the hospital they did everything they could for her. I was very impressed with all the care and hardwork all the doctors did to try to save her life. The doctors were very compassionate as well.

I highly recommend this Medical center for any care. They have the best Physicians, nurses and medical staff. Most staff have empathy, compassion which is rare to find in a State run hospital. They are transparent, often doing the best to provide exceptional patient centered care. I had the privilege working at this amazing Healthcare system for 20yrs. From my experience working all around the Country I can definitely say this is the best Healthcare system I have worked.

Came to the ER for an injured foot, and apart from the receptionist everyone was really polite and wanted to help you. The officer at the entrance helped me into a wheelchair and the nurses were patient and efficient even with a large crowd waiting outside. I was in there for a while and told a nurse I was hungry and they even delivered me a bag of food. Inside was very clean too.

If you are having a baby make sure you quadruple check your information, otherwise you will end up making a lot of calls and going through a lot of paper work to fix your baby’s birth certificate.
They had my information(everything was correct on the paper, but typed it wrong) and my ID, still made a mistake twice.
After calling 3 times, I got a call back 2 weeks later, saying I should call ss to get it fixed.

Very helpful. I came from Alaska where they refused treatment. The surgeon Zoe Parr was amazing. She did surgery on me when no one else would.

I went to the emergency room and the lobby was full. I was very surprised how quickly they got each of us in. I was admitted to the hospital and in emergency every nurse and doctor were very professional and friendly. I would never hesitate to go here again. By the way, I had major back surgery there also and I can’t say enough about the care I received.

First and foremost a hospital should not be a place of politics, “fighting the culture war” as the head of trans medicine put it, should have no place in medicine. A hospital should be a place of reason, medical science and patient care, the UW system does not meet that criterion. UW medicine wants to be a front of cultural change first and foremost, where state law is bent to push both political and social change. Where your identity is erased in favor of creating an environment where nothing can be assumed. They have cultivated an environment where even people that deal with daily harassment and dismissal of their identity have to have their identity further erased to not trigger PTSD in other patients. I’m not allowed to be a woman at UW medicine because as I was told was not a gender identity protected under the 31 identities protected by WA state law. UW wants to change the world politically through requiring patients to give up their identity to check a myriad of boxes that may not even fit who you are, but you can’t be you, because that can be upsetting to someone else. You can’t be a woman at UW because that “means different things to different people.” A hospital should not be playing a game of semantics, especially when under their own rules that they have created, in order to not misgender you, do indeed misgender you, and reduce who you are as a person, and as a patient. Feelings are not medicine, directed patient care is. I should not be treated with child gloves because I am woman with a trans experience and they are afraid of triggering PTSD in me, I am an adult. UW policy is a misstep, a massive backslide, and insulting to all people. UW policy will also cause push further pushback against trans people in a time that people are already hostile towards them. You cannot erase misgendering, that’s a misguided fool’s errand, even CIS people get misgendered. And you can tell that even their own staff don’t know how to handle this change, when their own nurses will laugh at you in the elevator, and their own doctors will strip you of your identity and make you just an adult patient if you tell them you want to be recognized as female. UW medical center is not a place of medicine, or of reason it is psych ward ran by politically motivated activists.

Offered me a wheelchair right away, warm blankets. I'm so glad I came here. I feel so much better my fever went away and I got plenty of fluids. Very good hospital/staff
