- We had a very good experience with Avis. Professional people behind the counter, they arranged the car quickly, we had no problems. We were expecting complications, as we are all young drivers, but there were no problems. When we got back we just handed the car in without any paperwork, we received the invoice in the mail, which made it easier to get to the airport.

My experience with Avis Rent-A-Car in Seattle was underwhelming and disappointing. Initially, I was provided with a black Toyota Camry that was far from meeting acceptable standards.

The condition of the Camry was appalling. It was not just unclean; it was filthy. The vehicle emitted a strong, unpleasant odor, clearly indicating a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. The steering wheel was particularly distressing, covered in white stains that seemed to be either makeup or gum. This level of uncleanliness was unacceptable and forced me to request a different vehicle.

The replacement, a Chevrolet Impala, was cleaner but introduced new concerns. My main issue was with the vehicle’s tires, which had a “B” traction rating. This is a significant safety risk, especially given Seattle’s wet weather conditions. The car frequently hydroplaned on the highway, a clear indication that the tire choice was not suitable for the area’s climate. For a city like Seattle, where rain is frequent, “A” rated tires are essential to ensure the safety of drivers.

In summary, while the second vehicle was a slight improvement in terms of cleanliness, the overall experience with Avis was marred by poor vehicle maintenance and inadequate consideration for safety. It’s crucial for a rental company to prioritize the cleanliness and safety of their vehicles, and unfortunately, Avis fell short in these areas during my visit.

I'd have given 0 stars if I could. Got a rental on 12/24 and they gave me a Malibu which broke down less than 5 miles from the airport on i5. Customer service took over an hour to connect and I had to wait for almost 3 hours in 40 degree weather, for a tow truck . I had to go back to their rental agency at 10ish pm to get a replacement car and the useless trash at the counter didn't even care or apologize and he asked another agent to take over and he just left.
The other agent literally shut the window in my face. that boy got lucky I didn't react. This Asian agent needs to be fired.
Just go to National or Enterprise, these scum are not worth it.

DO NOT! rent from Avis. Gave me vehicle I didn't reserve, later exchanged it for another vehicle which had a damaged front bumper. Now I'm getting blame for the damage I didn't do. Avis is trying to get a claim for a vehicle I didn't damage. Stay away from Avis.
