I absolutely despise going to hospitals but I have to say the nurses and the doctor I encountered at Topeka ER were the most caring and compassionate medical staff I have ever met! They were extremely attentive, supportive, and made me feel like I mattered. They were nonjudgmental and not once made me feel bad about entering their ER like other hospitals have. It’s scary enough to be a patient who is vulnerable and in pain therefore, knowing there are medical staff who go to lengths to make you comfortable and truly care about your wellbeing, changes the way we care for ourselves. This place sets a great example of what the medical field was intended to be. I for one want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. You all are the best of the best

I could go on forever. This approach to medical care appears to address the ills of the modern medical establishment. It is far more than merely an emergency room. If you are willing consider trying something new, I urge you to give them a look. All the skills and practices, without bureaucracy. A deviation from the overriding/abiding $ top objective to competency, consideration and efficiency.

Very fast diagnosis and treatment plan not hours of sitting and waiting like most hospitals. Only thing that was a little bit of a negative was I am a medical professional as well and I was told a generic name for a common medication that I didn’t recognize right away and if I would have known I would have declined that medication. Overall a great experience

Very impressive Hospital the staff was right on they got me taken care of lickety split the doctor was very thorough spent plenty of time the only thing I would change is there insurance policies because just the fact that they don't accept our insurance I won't be back that is the only reason I Won't Go Back and that's the only reason I didn't give him a five star

What can I say. Your treated like family. Called Stormont Vail to get an appointment was left on hold for 45 minutes. Called cotton Oneil express was on hold for another 40 minutes, decided. I was going to Topeka ER and hospital. Greeted with kindness was taken back Immediately. I don't know how other people feel, but if you want good care, go to Topeka ER. Me personally I love them. And it did not take 4 to 8 hours to get care.

Get used to different- The Chosen
From the moment you enter you are WELCOMED by kind people, treated with dignity (no patronizing “hun” speak), knowledgeable and THOUGHTFUL staff, AND you when even know exactly what you are getting for your hard earned dollars before anything is done- like any reputable business would offer- wow- novel. We hope to never be back but if we have a medical need, we will ONLY go here if at all possible. The other ERs better be taking notes. -Janine, mom to 12yr patient with broken leg who had never been to a medical establishment and now wants to be a doctor ;)

Very clean, friendly, got me in right away. I liked the doctor and nurses. They did have issues drawing my labs and I have never had anyone have such issues for a simple lab draw. It hurt and felt like she was kind of digging and when you don't feel good already it just intensifies. She was very nice, just think maybe when she didn't get it the first time, maybe it would have been good to have someone else try. But overall I would definitely go back. I went to Stormont first and waited an hour in this little waiting pit and they came to get me to do labs in the hallway and had no idea how much longer the wait would be for a room. I called Topeka ER to see what the wait was and they said no wait. I stopped the labs at Stormont and we went TER. i would highly recommend.

The best and most efficient hospital i’ve have ever been too. Thanks too Dr. Hartig, Dr. Gustin, Dr. Herrin, Hillari, Machelle, Chad, John, Kate, Heather, Desiree, and Rhonda. You guys are amazing and thank you all for taking care of me and helping me when I really needed it the most.

This ER helped my daughter with skill, kindness and outstanding compassion. All of the staff from reception(Chrissy and cindy) to the patient care staff(Dr Hartig, Dr. Gustin, Dr. Herrin, machelle, hillari, Desiree, John, Rhonda, emeri, chad, Kori, and Heather) are helpful just the right amount of humor to make a stressful situation bareable. They must have amazing leadership to be this happy. I can not thank them enough.

Most caring, quick and just over all best experience with all the staff! Dr was amazing nurses were so sweet and very caring! Definitely making this my families go to care facility for urgent care! Thank you all for being AMAZING!!!!

Very poor, do not recommend.
I took my 1yr old in for concerns of respiratory issues related to cold.
I was treated as though I shouldn’t have brought her in.

It was mentioned to me numerous times by both the doctor and nurse that what she has is viral and or likely just teething. I was made to feel like my choice to error on the side of caution was wrong.

While I understand that her cold will go away with time and there is nothing to be done about it. I wasn’t there because I thought they could fix it I was there because I was concerned with how she was breathing.

Facility doesn't accept Medicare so I was given the opportunity to have a Dr recommendation and to decide whether or not to continue at my personal expense. CT scan was recommended so I declined service. I was treated with professional kindness and concern.

After sitting in a local ER for 10 hours with no hope of being seen, I went home. The next morning I went to Topeka ER & Hospital. After getting the paperwork cleared up, I was in a room in less than 10 minutes. I was given pain meds for headaches I has suffered with for 9 days. I needed an MRI. It was completed within 20 minutes. I'm thankful there is another alternative to sitting in a waiting room in a local ER for 10 hours hoping to be seen. Thank you Topeka ER & Hospital.

These people who work here should be ashamed of themselves, went in last year because my girlfriends foot was hurting and it was difficult to walk on. They felt it and said it was sprained. They gave her 3 Ibuprofens and asked if she wanted Hydros, she said no. The doctor continued to ask her why not for the opioids. It took her three times saying no before they stopped pushing it. They sent a bill for $1,800 and we politely asked for an itemized bill since the price seemed very high. They said no three times then stopped responding

Overall, a good experience, especially for someone who is claustrophobic. It was a bit awkward that my paper work wasn't correct when I was checking in. It was smoothed out when the intake person checked the order from KRC and Dr. Shakkur to find out I was right about the time. Everyone was very friendly and professional, despite the glitch.
