I was travelling from Kolkata to Dulles international on 30th Oct. Doha to IAD is a long haul 14 hours flight. In the middle of the flight my 1.5 year old daughter thought to take a walk with me. We were seated right after the business class, and with no specific intention we started walking through the business class. We were not making any noise. Caught by an attendant sitting at the end of business class, quoting exactly what she said, “economy class people are not allowed to come to business class, it’s the airline policy”. I got confused, how in the world at this time when we are thinking of traveling to the Mars with Elon Musk, an airline can make a policy to discriminate among people? And that too based on peoples color or economic status? I politely asked her whether it’s her version or it’s really a policy she is following. She said it’s actually an airline policy and I can talk to her supervisor to confirm. Someone Miss Priya came and told me the same. We returned to our seats but that had left a scar in me. Exactly how our ancestors felt when they were resisted to equally participate from social events just because they were having a black skin color. I can change this specific problem easily by purchasing business class ticket next time from this airline, but that way I’ll be supportive of their idealism that people should still be discriminated based on their color and money. I wonder if that’s the mindset of all the airlines? Or specific to Qatar Airways? Can this be changed, like we have changed many discriminating policies and made ourselves a better version of a human society?

How does such airline not have a direct customer service live chat option without logging to their unhelpful website ? Not a direct phone number either. The airline is so overrated.

2 times, without any reason, my flight was canceled. There was currency exchange difference and canceled close to my flight date. Waiting for refund but now I've to book a more expensive price.

Who will pay the difference in currency exchange and in advance booking difference?

I recently had the unfortunate experience of flying with Qatar Airways, and I must say it was an extremely disappointing and frustrating ordeal. To put it bluntly, not one flight that I was on during my entire journey was on time, including my connecting flight, which ultimately caused me to miss a highly anticipated excursion. To make matters worse, I was not able to secure a refund for this excursion OR reschedule it, leaving me deeply dissatisfied with Qatar Airways.

The chronically delayed flights were not the only issue; the airline's customer service and handling of the situation were abysmal. When we were rebooked onto alternative flights, it felt like we were given the lowest priority possible. Our seating arrangements were completely different from what we had already requested and paid for on the original flights. It's infuriating to spend hours researching and selecting the perfect seats, only to have them disregarded without explanation or apology.

Furthermore, the lack of communication from Qatar Airways staff regarding the delays and rebooking was frustratingly inadequate. Passengers were left in the dark for extended periods, adding to the overall sense of disarray and chaos.

In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend Qatar Airways for anyone, especially for international travel. The unreliability of their flights, the careless handling of customers during disruptions, and the disregard for passenger preferences when rebooking make them an airline to avoid at all costs. My experience with Qatar Airways has left me not only deeply dissatisfied but also regretful of the time and money I invested in what should have been a pleasant journey. Save yourself the hassle and frustration by considering alternative airlines for your travel needs.

Not only did they fail to ensure any of my flights were on time, but they also managed to completely obliterate my brand-new carry-on bag on the way to Indonesia. To add insult to injury, they forced me to check it instead of allowing me to keep it with me in the cabin, despite available space. This decision was not only inconvenient but also resulted in the destruction of my luggage.

While Qatar Airways has assured me that they are working on reimbursing me for the damage to my bag, it's utterly frustrating that I had to go through this ordeal in the first place. It's their responsibility to handle passengers' belongings with care, especially when they insist on checking in carry-on items.

To make matters even worse, my return journey was marred by another instance of negligence, as they managed to break one of my other bags. Keep in mind that this was a completely new set of luggage that I had invested in, and it's disheartening to see it ruined within a single trip.

The lack of consideration for passengers' belongings and the repeated damage to my luggage have further eroded any trust I may have had in Qatar Airways. It's one thing to experience delays and poor customer service, but to have your personal property destroyed twice in a single trip is simply unacceptable.

In light of these experiences, I cannot emphasize enough how reluctant I am to recommend Qatar Airways to anyone, especially for international travel. Their consistent failures in ensuring timely flights, coupled with their disregard for passengers' belongings, have left me with a sour taste in my mouth and a sense of frustration that lingers long after my journey has ended.
