В среду официальные лица объявят, что реконструкция аэропорта Ла Гуардия делает большой шаг вперед.
Главный вход в недавно отремонтированный терминал B откроется в субботу.
Основной зал прибытия и отправления в Центральном терминале был реконструирован вместе с остальной частью аэропорта в рамках долгосрочного проекта по обновлению объекта стоимостью 8 миллиардов долларов.
Терминал B был открыт в 1964 году как «воздушные ворота в Америку», но он впал в такое состояние, что бывший вице-президент Джо Байден однажды назвал его «страной третьего мира».
Модернизация LaGuardia вызвала объезды и задержки на Grand Central Parkway в течение многих лет.
LaGuardia обслуживает около 30 миллионов пассажиров каждый год.
