Сакраменто и Сан-Франциско идут на климатический рекорд

Сакраменто находится на грани того, чтобы иметь свой первый свободный от дождя февраль в зарегистрированной истории. Это произойдёт в субботу если не будет осадков.

Как правило, город имеет в среднем 3,47 дюйма дождя в феврале. Но этот сезон дождей был необычайно сухим.

И это не единственный калифорнийский город, который высох.

В Сан-Франциско не было осадков в феврале, когда обычно в среднем 4,46 дюйма осадков.

Если Сан-Франциско продержится еще один день без дождя, это будет впервые за 156 лет.

С учетом того, что Национальная метеорологическая служба прогнозирует нулевой процент дождей в обоих городах в субботу, похоже, что они это сделают.

Установка новых рекордов может быть интересной. Но в этом случае это повод для беспокойства.

Зима в Калифорнии обычно является дождливым сезоном, но последние два месяца были совсем не так.

Помимо февральской засухи, январь был значительно ниже среднего по количеству осадков - 30% от нормы для Сакраменто и 60% от нормы для Сан-Франциско.

По данным офиса метеослужбы в Сан-Франциско, в этом году в городе от 40 до 70 процентов среднего количества осадков.

Беспокойство связано не только с отсутствием дождя, но и с рекордно высокой температурой. И Сакраменто, и Сан-Франциско подняли несколько рекордных максимумов в феврале.

Сочетание горячего и сухого воздуха заставляет людей беспокоиться о пожарах в ближайшие месяцы.
