In the heart of Atlanta’s Home Park neighborhood, at 398 14th St NW, lies a local culinary anchor that bridges the gap between a traditional neighborhood corner store and a high-integrity specialty market. 14th St Grocery and Halal Meat is a vibrant, multi-sensory hub where the fast-paced energy of the city slows down to the rhythmic sound of a master butcher’s knife and the aromatic promise of imported spices.
While it is a convenient stop for travelers heading toward Atlanta Airport, for the local community and Georgia Tech students, it is a definitive "insider" secret for sourcing world-class protein and hard-to-find global staples.
The "A-Town" Halal Authority
The Master Butcher Counter: The crown jewel of the store is its fresh, Zabiha Halal meat department. Unlike the pre-packaged options at major retailers, the butchers here provide a custom experience, hand-cutting premium lamb, goat, and beef to your exact specifications—whether you’re prepping for a Sunday roast or a traditional stew.
The "Global Pantry" Discovery: The aisles are a curated tapestry of international flavors. From artisanal Middle Eastern tahini and South Asian basmati to a specialized selection of Mediterranean oils and sweets, it is a luminous treasure chest for the home cook who refuses to settle for generic ingredients.
The Transit Oasis: Strategically positioned near the connector, it serves as the perfect "pre-flight" or "post-commute" pitstop. It’s where you can grab a cold beverage and a bag of unique imported snacks that you won't find on an airport concourse.
The Community Vibe: The store is defined by its unpretentious, high-energy atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers your preferred cut of meat and the neighborhood news is shared over the counter, maintaining the "Main Street" feel in the middle of a major metropolis.
The Quality Standard
"Freshness is our heritage; community is our mission. Quality cuts and global tastes at the heart of the 14th."
REVIEWS
- Not enough selections, small store.
- This place is great, packed full of products for a store its size.
- A little pricy but the proximity to an Indian store makes it all worth it. Good collection of frozen foods, vegetables, snacks, spices, and other bssic indian grocery items.
- So I bought a bunch of things from them, but found bugs in the produce and bags of nuts. Additionally, I purchased a bag of rice, but forgot to put it in my car. I called them for a couple days after that but to no avail. The only reason I like this place is that it has decent Indian food walkable from where I used to live, but they need to work on cleanliness and customer service.
- Only place in Atlanta serving Halal meat at reasonable prices
- Very helpful and had all the lamb and seafood I was looking for at better prices than other stores.
- Very friendly cashier and plenty of your favorite groceries. A must visit. Also For those who must know, masjid with a very beautifully designed interior is a block away.
