New York City, 2463 Frederick Douglass Boulevard at, W 132nd St, New York, 10027

If you’re living in Central Harlem and tired of trekking blocks just to find a decent bunch of cilantro or a specific brand of oat milk, Foodtown of Frederick Douglass Blvd is a total lifesaver. Located at 2463 Frederick Douglass Blvd, right near the corner of 132nd Street in the 10027 zip code, this place has become a neighborhood anchor. It’s got that classic Harlem energy—busy, friendly, and stocked with exactly what the community actually needs. It’s much more than your average corner bodega, but it still has that local feel where the cashiers might actually recognize you after a few trips.

The standout feature here is the huge selection of organic and specialty items tucked into a regular supermarket footprint. For those of us trying to eat a bit healthier, the "Naturally Foodtown" sections are packed with gluten-free snacks, plant-based proteins, and high-end dairy alternatives that you’d usually have to go to a fancy health food store to find. Their produce department is surprisingly solid for the area, too; the greens are actually crisp, and they do a great job stocking tropical fruits and roots that are staples in Caribbean and Southern cooking.

What really distinguishes this Foodtown is how much they’ve leaned into convenience for Harlem residents. They offer fast local delivery and curbside pickup through their app, which is a massive win if you’re living in a walk-up and don’t feel like hauling three cases of seltzer up the stairs. The aisles are a bit wider than your typical NYC grocery store, so you don't feel like you're in a bumper-car match with other shoppers. Plus, their full-service deli is great for a quick hero or some sliced turkey when you’re in a rush between work and home.

The vibe is unpretentious and community-focused. You’ll see everyone from long-time Harlem locals to students from City College grabbing their weekly staples. They have a Club Card rewards program that’s actually worth signing up for—it knocks a good chunk off the bill for things like eggs, milk, and coffee. It’s a reliable, clean, and high-quality spot that makes living in Upper Manhattan a lot easier. Whether you’re stocking up for a Sunday dinner or just grabbing a pint of ice cream on your way home, this Foodtown is a neighborhood staple for a reason.

Workers are nice. They never put up sale signs. Cashier was not pleasant Cashier would not take my coin change for payment because she has to count her draw and didn't want too much change to count. The first Cashier on the register older latin woman.
Always missing products especially products that are on sale.

Of the two supermarkets on the avenue this is my favorite, have been shopping there for some years. Prices here are not to bad can usually find what I need, and if I can’t I will tell the staff there and they will see if they can find it for me.

Okay, if items are needed quickly. The aisles are extremely narrow. It would be great if they invested in electronic doors. My elderly cousin has a difficult time trying to push the door open while pushing his cart.

Been going there for years 22 + years. Places going through many different names. And many different workers. Everything's been fine until the last year-and-a-half. The workers very bad attitudes and loves Hispanic only. Don't feel the same warmth enjoy over 22 years used to be more united as people of similar disgrace. Last year and a half people mostly or workers Hispanic and they are very disrespectful and dismissive what happened to diversity you complain about the same stuff but you practice everyday. Especially with your overpriced produce and other things like a diversity in your Market currently known Foodtown. And your me I never buy after disappointment after disappointment. I noticed your workers don't even shop there.
